Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly Seaside "Currents" Update.
|
Seaside's offices are now open Monday - Thursday from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, closed on Friday. When possible, please call ahead for an appointment with staff members. Please knock on their office door and wait for a response prior to entering a staff member's office. This allows staff to mask prior to meeting with you.
Updates and special announcements from Seaside's pastors will be posted in the Thursday "Currents" or in special announcement emails.
Please note the current edition of our monthly newsletter is available on our website at www.seasideumc.org. Click here for the current edition of the newsletter.

The Word This Week
"Come On Down Indeed: The Price Is Right!"
Rev. Lynn Benson
This Sunday is New Consecration Sunday. We welcome Rev. Lynn Benson who will bring us this week's word of proclamation and encourage us towards following the leading of the Spirit as we listen for what God is asking us to do with our resources this coming year. Much more than a stewardship campaign, New Consecration Sunday focuses on how giving to the church benefits us spiritually and challenges us in our discipleship.
Questions for Reflection
1. Last week Clay Swenson said that we do not give until it hurts, but should give until "it feels good." What do you think this means?
2. How do you think our level of giving impacts our spiritual growth?
3. Spend this weekend in continued prayer over what God is asking you to do with your resources this coming year.

Advent Devotional Recommendations
Nancy Camino, Director of Discipleship Ministries, recommends the following devotionals for this upcoming Advent Season.
The first is “The Wondrous Mystery” An Upper Room Advent Reader. This is a short study with daily reflections.
The second recommendation is “Advent for Everyone, Matthew” A Daily Devotional by N.T. Wright, a little deeper study.
You will need to order a copy of either book for yourself, as we will not be taking orders for books this year. Both are available on Amazon as well as through other sellers.
