Weekly Digest is moving to Wednesday mornings!
Now that City Council meetings have moved to Tuesdays, the Weekly Digest is moving to Wednesday mornings so we can bring you a summary of what happened the night before.
Join us for a Community Conversation on Striving for Racial Equity
The Golden City Council wants to be proactive in finding ways to combat systemic racism. The first step is to hear from you, our residents and business owners. The community is invited to join us for a very important conversation about ways to combat systemic racism this Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m.** We will be joined by a professional facilitator to help lead us in a productive conversation. This is not a decision-making night but a night for us to listen to our community. Every voice and opinion matters, and we want to provide a welcoming space for you to share without critique. This is how we can grow and learn together.

Dr. Nita Mosby Tyler is the Chief Catalyst and founder of The Equity Project, LLC – an organization designed to support organizations and communities in building diversity, equity and inclusion strategies. She is the former Senior Vice President and Chief Inclusion Officer the Children’s Hospital Colorado – the first African American woman to hold that position in the organization’s 100+ year history. Dr. Mosby Tyler will be facilitating our 90-minute conversation.

We hope you will make the time to join in this discussion, whether you participate or just listen. We are expecting a large turnout, so please be patient as we navigate potential technological difficulties with such a large group online.

**Please note, participants MUST register in advance by 5 p.m. on the day of the meeting to be a part of the conversation. Anyone can watch the meeting, however, by streaming at cityofgolden.net/agendas or at GCO.tv. A recording of the meeting will also be available to watch in both places after the meeting takes place.

The Jeffco Hazard Mitigation Plan is due for its 5-year update! This important plan analyzes the County's vulnerabilities to natural and human caused hazards, and identifies mitigation actions the County can take to minimize the danger.

The County is looking for feedback from the community with a survey that will help identify and understand vulnerabilities within the County and how best to mitigate and address those needs. Take the survey, which will remain open until January 31.
