Weekly Director Letter 01/08/2021
Dear Parents,
Welcome back! As we usher in 2021, we are being extra cautious with regard to health and safety protocols. Please remember if you traveled out of the country, you and your child must quarantine for 2 weeks before returning to school. Please also remember if you or your child find out that you have been EXPOSED to someone who tested positive, your child cannot come back to school until testing and or a waiting period has taken place. Please read all of the guidelines for returning if you or your child has COVID or has been exposed https://kidsforkidsacademy.com/covid/ .
To assist kids in our Kindergarten and first grade who have had to stay home due to exposure, I went out this week and purchased some webcams and monitors and hooked them up to laptops so kids in those classes could watch instruction from home. If you have a small flat tv (smart tv or not) that you no longer use, we would gladly accept them as donations so that we have them properly installed in our Kindergarten and First Grade classes. We will also accept donations of used web cameras, Firesticks, Chrome Casts or Roku devices to convert old TV's to smart ones for purposes of Zooming when needed. If you have any small TV mounting brackets laying around the house that are not being used (maybe you upgraded to a larger TV), we will gladly accept those as well. In that same topic, if you are handy and would like to volunteer to help us with the installations, we are happy to accept the gift of your time.
At this time we are excited to announce that we will be opening a second grade class next year. We are excited to have our students in first grade move up or to welcome anyone you know looking for second grade to our school. We will be having only 1 Kindergarten class next year. If your child is in VPK, please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to stay for Kindergarten. If your child is in our Kindergarten and they will be staying for First Grade, please let me know that as well. Preference will be given to families from our school. We accept the STEP UP and Family Empowerment Scholarships. Families who qualify for that program pay only $35 weekly for Kindergarten - Second Grade. Even if you think you don't qualify, you should click here to verify.

As an example, a family of 4 can make up to $78,000 and still qualify.

Finally, our pasta fundraiser will be coming to a close next week. So far we have raised $367. All monies raised will be used to buy plants for the kids to grow in our garden. To sell to friends and family or to purchase pasta for your family, simply click this link.

Have a great weekend!
