Weekly Director Letter 1/14/2022
Dear Parents,
This was a difficult week at Kids For Kids. For part of the week, we had as many as 4 staff out ill. I thank all of my staff for stepping in to do whatever was needed. Some came in early while others stayed late or stepped into other classes to ensure stability in our classrooms. By Wednesday, 3 of our staff had returned and things were more normal.

We celebrated on Wednesday with an on-site field trip from the Jungle Gym. Our Kids in Rainbow, VPK, and our K-2 classes participated in a fun fitness activity on the Jungle Gym. If your child was in attendance on Wednesday, you will see a $6 charge on your Brightwheel account. Check out photos on Facebook or in Brightwheel. Our students loved it so much we will have the Jungle Gym return in April. You can also hire them to celebrate your child's birthday at our school.

This week we also welcomed our Kindergarten, First, and Second graders back to in-person learning back from Zoom Learning online. Our families suffering from COVID, I thank you for keeping your child home and we wish you a speedy recovery.

If your child will be 4 years old by September 1st, they will be entitled to discounted tuition if they have a VPK certificate. Enrollment is now open. In order to hold a space for your child in our fall 2022 VPK program we will need your VPK certificate. To obtain the certificate go to www.vpkhelp.org . You will need to provide them with proof of your child's age and proof you live in Florida. The process is easy and ALL 4-year old's are eligible.

Reminder: All children must have their temperature taken before entering the building or going onto the playground. Parents, please do not take your child to class without scanning their temperature. This week we received calls from 2 families whose children were in school and tested positive for COVID. The only symptom they had was congestion. As they exposed their classmates, parents had to decide whether to send their child to school or quarantine. I am begging parents, even if your child only has a cold, please keep them home. If you are concerned, please have your child tested before sending them back to school. This is for the good of their classmates and staff We will do our best to keep kids at school healthy, we ask that you do your part as well. As we hear of cases of COVID, we will immediately let you know using the Brightwheel App.

Finally, as per our calendar, we are CLOSED on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday.

Have a great weekend with your child,
Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed.S, NBCT
