Dear Parents,
This week we returned to the Science Lab for hands-on explorations. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to teach our VPK kids. In this week’s lab they learned about tools scientists use. Students used a funnel to make it easier to pour water into test tubes. Click below to watch a five-minute video clip of today’s Science Lab lesson.
You can view photos of the lab on our Facebook page.
The other exciting news of the week was the welcoming of 6 interns to our school. We held an orientation on Wednesday. They will begin to learn from our most talented staff starting Monday. This is a huge honor for our school as we are piloting this program for The Early Learning Coalition, Career Source, and Miami Dade College. Their CEO’s will be at our school Monday for a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the program. Not only will these Early Childhood students learn from our staff, but our classes will get an extra pair of hands to help in their classes.
Finally, please mark your calendars. We will be closed next Thursday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. Some families may wish to make it an extended long weekend, because of that, Friday will be considered a non-instructional day. The kids in VPK, Kindergarten, First, or Second Grade will not be counted absent and we will remain open for the parents who need us. If your child will be absent on Friday please send us a message so that we can have a more accurate lunch count.
Have a great weekend,
Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed.S, NBCT
