Weekly Director Letter 12/3/2021
Dear Parents,
We are officially into the "Holiday Season". This week many of our classes learned about Chanukkah and in weeks to come will learn about Christmas and Kwanza. A special thanks to those families who picked gift tags off the front bulletin board. Please remember after shopping for the gift to put the tag back on the package. Each tag represents a child at our school or a sibling. With your help, we can make the holiday season special for these kids!

Next week on December 8th, our Rainbow, VPK, and K-2 classes will have an on-site field trip from The Little Farm. Students will learn about animals and have a chance to go into the petting zoo. Kids that are present in those classes on that day will be billed $8 for the admission charge.
Please mark your calendar for Santa's visit on December 16th. He will be here to give a small gift to your child and pose for photos. Santa will be here from 7:30-9:00 then will have to fly off to the North Pole so if you want a photo, please make sure you are here no later than 9:00 am.

Our VPK, K, 1, and 2 classes are also planning a spirit week. You should have gotten a note home, but just in case it did not find you....Here is the information:
Monday 12/13 come to school nice and cozy in your holiday pajamas!
Tuesday 12/14 wear blue and white in honor of Hanukkah!
Wednesday 12/15 wear your Santa hat! Our Christmas caroling will be streamed on our Facebook page!
Thursday 12/16 Santa is coming to town! Come wearing red and green to meet him between 7:30am-9am
Friday 12/17 wear your ugly Christmas sweaters!

We will be open December 20-23 and closed Friday December 24th. As Miami Dade School is closed on those days, they are considered NON INSTRUCTIONAL. That means that kids in VPK, and K-2 are not marked absent if they do not attend. If you do plan to stay home that week, however, please let your child's teacher know so that we can plan our lunch menu accordingly.

Remember, we are closed the last week in December and will reopen on Monday January 3rd.

Special thanks to those parents who volunteered to fold and tape boxes. Now that all the folded boxes are back, I am looking for a few volunteers to wrap them in clear tape. Volunteers are also needed to wrap presents that will be donated by Hasbro. If you are interested, please reply here. Thanks for all your help!

Have a wonderful weekend!
