Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8
On Monday, April 8, 2024, the Pittsburgh area will be within the pathway of a solar eclipse between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. EDT, according to NASA and the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). During the eclipse, the Pittsburgh area may experience some sky darkening with the darkest points expected just after 3:17 p.m.
Mt. Lebanon School District does not plan to modify the school day on Monday, April 8. We know that some families may want to keep their student home or pick them up from school early to witness this historic event. The absence or dismissal will be excused by the District. We will ask families to submit these requests in advance to ensure the school has enough time to plan for increased pick ups during the school day.

Spring Musical: Meet Me In St. Louis
Meet us at the Mt. Lebanon High School Theater for the spring musical, Meet Me in St. Louis! A nostalgic epoch based on the 1944 film starring Judy Garland, the story follows the Smith family between the summer 1903 and the spring 1904. When the family is excitedly discussing young love interests and the upcoming World's Fair, Mr. Smith abruptly shares that he's been offered new employment that will move the family from St. Louis to New York City. The family must come to terms with the relocation and the losses that come along with it. A heartwarming portrayal of a family in early 20th-century America: young love, the importance of family, and how we value the friendships and communities that surround us.
