Interim Pastor’s Adult Forum: Inquirer’s Class

Sunday mornings at 9 AM for 8 weeks beginning on October 11

Would you like a refresher course on what Episcopalians believe? Are you an adult who wishes to be baptized or is considering being baptized or confirmed? Are you an adult who wishes to be Received into this Communion?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, or if you would just like to be supportive of those persons who answer yes to any of these questions, then this class is for you! Beginning on October 11, we will meet every Sunday at 9 AM for eight weeks. It’s a class designed not only for newcomers, but also for people who have been Episcopalians all of their lives. The more diversity we have, the more interesting it is for everyone! The location of the class will be announced closer to the first class.

by Daniel Smith | Sunday, October 11 | 11:30 AM-1 PM

What if reading the Bible isn't something you should do — but something you get to do? That's the question at the heart of a conversation between Marty Chapman and Daniel Smith, Associate Professor of New Testament at Saint Louis University and a beloved teacher of our 8th grade confirmation students for the past 12 years. Daniel will bring that conversation to life in person this fall.

ORGAN PROJECT

Organ Project Fundraising Updates

What was the goal of The Church of St. Michael & St. George Organ Campaign, and how much was raised?

Our goal for the Organ Campaign was $3.8 million. This figure reflects three components: $2.8 million for the Schoenstein & Co. Opus 188 instrument itself, $500,000 for site preparation — the chamber renovation and structural and electrical work needed to house the organ — and $500,000 to establish an Organ Endowment Fund to support its future tuning, maintenance, and repair. As of Monday, September 14, 2026, we have received $4,052,437 in gifts and pledges, exceeding our goal.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who gave to this campaign — your generosity has made it possible for this instrument to become part of worship at St. Michael & St. George for generations to come. Thank you for believing in this project and for helping bring it to life.

How will surplus funds be used?

The original $3.8 million goal was allocated across three priorities: the instrument, site preparation, and the Organ Endowment Fund. Funds raised in excess of the goal will support the continued site preparation as the installation is completed and additional investment in the Organ Endowment Fund to further strengthen long-term support for the instrument's care.

We also provide warm hats & scarves to the Little Bit Foundation, which serves under-resourced children in our community. We meet the second Saturday of each month to work on current projects and to encourage and support each other. Knitted items include prayer shawls, hats, winter scarves, and baby blankets. Everyone is welcome, and we are happy to teach those looking to learn how to knit.

We accept yarn donations from any unfinished projects or surplus stock. For more information, contact Anne Daniels annedaniels1@juno.com.
