Tonight is our final Adult and Youth Faith Formation (at 6:15 p.m.) after our dinner from 5:30-6:15 p.m. (hosted this week by Tom and Ginny Olson) – please come join us! And we’ve loved getting together on these Wednesdays so much, we’d like to keep it going! Starting next week, May 25, we will have dinner at 5:30 p.m. but need more helpers for all the Wednesday dinners in JUNE! If you can help, it's easy, and you can get family, friends, or a group to help you! See the sign-up sheets by the kitchen serving window. And then after dinner, we’ll select a couple of different wacky activities to do together – outdoor and indoor options. For example, crafts, games, or movies inside and group games or projects outside (weather permitting).

Come and enjoy good food, fun, and fellowship!

Men_s group - blue.jpg
Men_s group.jpg

Hey guys! Want to get together on a regular basis? We would like to offer a time for the men of our community to gather and be strengthened in their faith. We will initially meet on Saturday mornings at church. If this is of interest to you, please let the office know. The group will start meeting the morning of Saturday, June 11.

REMINDER: The New Life Golf Group starts up tomorrow, Thursday, May 19 with the first tee time at 5:36 p.m. at Door Creek Golf Course. We have four golfers who have committed, and we also have a list of names of others who are interested when one of us cannot make it.  Anyone is welcome to join in. This year, Verne is scheduling the foursomes two weeks in advance to ensure we can keep our tee time a full foursome.

Verne Scholl and David Hayward are the contacts for communication on golfing opportunities that come up through the season until August 25th. We use no formalized selection, other than send the interested group email request out, and the first one to respond with a “yes” is in for that week. We are not a league, we are a community of faith and play for enjoyment, realizing the game of golf can be enjoyable no matter what skill levels we possess.

Common Threads

Ginny Olson and Gail Kriel lead knitters and crocheters in the Common Threads group, to make prayer shawls and blankets for the prayer shawl ministry. Sessions take place at Ginny's studio on the second Tuesday evenings of the month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the fourth Tuesday mornings of the month from 9:30-11:30 a.m. To sign up and for info, email Ginny.

NOTE:  The group will NOT meet on Tuesday, May 24 per Ginny.

Free prayer shawls are available at the church for anyone who would like one.

Please join us online (see Zoom link below) or in-person for an informative presentation given by H.O.P.E.’s founder Angela J. Boynton. Angela, a military wife, has lived in Africa and continues to reach out to African children and adults, empowering them through the nonprofit organization called H.O.P.E. Through her personal journey, learn about the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria, discover why the most populous country in Africa struggles to move forward, and visualize how you can be a part of changing the future generations in Africa.

Cookies prepared by a local baker will be available. Tea, coffee, and sparking waters, too. Complete a small craft item using authentic African beads. Please bring a friend or forward to someone you think would be interested!

Social Purpose Team is here for you

Please know that if you are experiencing any financial need (rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, medical, unemployment/furlough, etc. you only need to let Pastor Heather know. This information will be kept confidential to her and our financial officers (treasurer and bookkeeper).

And of course, if you would like to give to this fund, please submit checks with "Social Purpose Fund" in the memo or give online to that fund. Again, thank you for caring and sharing!

We have established a partnership with the Nehemiah Center, which means that we will be looking for and offering ways for you to connect with their leadership in our area serving communities of color. We will highlight ways that you can personally and with your family grow this partnership alongside what we're doing as a congregation.  Kathy Mullen is currently collecting the following items (women's toiletries):  shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, razors, lotion, deodorant and body wash.  Just place items on or around the table in the front lobby.

Other ways you and your family can partner: support black-owned businesses (click here for a list), visit to support refugees, visit to help with disaster response around the nation, or to find another way to give back to people in need.

Please Keep These People in Your Prayers

The family of Barb Olson, Donna Butler’s grandson Anthony, Boyd Fleming, Felicia Jones & family, Johnnie Jones, Michele Kiefer, Gail Kriel, Trish Krueger, Vicki Landes, Hailey Lennberg, Jeff Lehnherr, Laurie Neuendorf, Ginny Olson, Alvina Phillips, the family of Wendy Phillips (late daughter-in-law of Stan and Alvina), Vern Richmond (death of his brother Glen), Mary Ann Roelke & family (loss of father), Jeremy Showers, Bobby Spridco, Bill Sterud, Darrick Thompson, and Carolee Zick, .
