CELEBRATION SUNDAY WAS A SPECIAL DAY TO HONOR YOUTHS AFFIRMING THEIR FAITH AND OUR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES
During the 9:30 service on May 22nd we celebrated six youths' Affirmation of Baptism and 12 High School Graduates.
Affirming their faith on May 22 were:
Meadow Rae Corfits, Elliott James Erb, Courtney Marie Havertape, Rebekah Ida Lennberg, Shannon Bailey McAllister, and Shane Elijah Henry Peters.
The above seniors were also recognized for their High School Graduation, as well as these others: Noelle Beck, Paige Hanson, Mattea Hensley, Riley Neal, Ellyson O'Kane, and Dayna Sheldon.
Below are scenes from the ceremony (photos by Iris Christenson).
Please join us in blessing these youth partners on their accomplishments!

THY KINGDOM COME
Pastor Heather would like to invite you into a time of prayer from this Thursday, May 26 (Ascension Day) until Sunday, June 5 (Pentecost Sunday). “Thy Kingdom Come” is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for God’s Spirit to be renewed and revived in our communities and for more people to come to know Jesus.
What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. During these 10 days, please check out www.thykingdomcome.global for more resources and information.
“In praying 'Thy Kingdom Come' we all commit to playing our part in the renewal of the nations and the transformation of communities." Archbishop Justin Welby

NAMETAGS
During the height of Covid, it didn’t feel safe to bring back nametags in the way we used to use them. But with so many new people and visitors each week, we need to restore this hospitable practice. Next Sunday, June 5th, we will have nametags pre-printed on the partition in the Community Room for all regular attenders - plus blank nametag cards available for visitors. If you don't find yours there, please sign the sheet on the table next to the partition and we will make one for you! Once you get your nametag, it's yours to keep and take home and bring back with you each time you come to church.

Do You Like Breakfast?
Who doesn't enjoy having some good food with friends on a Sunday morning after church service?
We NEED someone to sign up to prepare and serve our "First Sunday of the Month" Breakfast on JUNE 5 - which is Pentecost Sunday (make something RED, with strawberries as an idea?) It's not difficult to do, and you can enlist the help of some friends! Please see the sign-up sheet on the window by the kitchen serving counter, or let the office know.
Let's enjoy a great start to the month of JUNE!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR JUNE WELCOME TEAM

JOIN US FOR WACKY WEDNESDAYS Starting TONIGHT - May 25
Dinner and Wacky Wednesday (game night!) begins tonight at 5:30pm for ALL AGES!
HOWEVER, we also feel called to share a time of prayer for victims of gun violence, especially those in Texas. Join us for prayer at 6:00pm in the Worship Center. Activities will take place afterwards.
Come join us for any or all of these times together...
Tonight's meal will be hosted by Jean and Vickey Hoover, but we need more helpers for all the Wednesday dinners in JUNE! If you can help, it's easy, and you can get family, friends, or a group to help you! See the sign-up sheets by the kitchen serving window. And then after dinner, we’ll select a couple of different wacky activities to do together – outdoor and indoor options. For example, crafts, games, or movies inside and group games or projects outside (weather permitting).
Tonight we will be INDOORS playing games!
Come and enjoy good food, fun, and fellowship!

"MILE BY MILE" - LAST WEEK OF OUR FUNDRAISER
What is that wall of envelopes in the community room? It's for the youths' next fundraiser, and we've already raised $1235 but we could use a few more donations, which will go towards our Pine Lake Camp experience and Boundary Waters Trip.
This is our LAST week, so please pick an envelope and donate that amount. Have fun picking your favorite number or a number that means a lot to you. If that number is already taken, feel free to pick two or three that add up to the number you would like! The youths say "thank you" for your donation!

WAYS TO PARTNER
We have established a partnership with the Nehemiah Center, which means that we will be looking for and offering ways for you to connect with their leadership in our area serving communities of color. We will highlight ways that you can personally and with your family grow this partnership alongside what we're doing as a congregation. Kathy Mullen is currently collecting the following items (women's toiletries): shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, razors, lotion, deodorant and body wash. Just place items on or around the table in the front lobby.
Other ways you and your family can partner: support black-owned businesses (click here for a list), visit www.lirs.org to support refugees, visit www.ldr.org to help with disaster response around the nation, or www.elca.org to find another way to give back to people in need.
