THE WELCOME TEAM NEEDS YOU!
We always encourage and appreciate volunteers for the Welcome Team to help out parts of the worship service, such as greeter, welcome table, usher, tellers, coffee server and Communion helpers. If you would like to know more about these roles, please contact Pastor Heather as we need more hands here!
Here is the August Welcome Sign Up
These sheets are on the Welcome table to write your name in while you're here or please enter in your name from a computer or laptop.

FALL ADULT FAITH FORMATION
As the summer begins to wind down, we look toward September anticipating the restart of Sunday and Wednesday Faith Formation, as well as Thursday morning Women's Bible Study. Plan now to join in one of these options as we're called to grow our faith!
Wednesday Faith Formation – beginning September 10, we will be looking at the life and teachings of St. Paul. Bring your own dinner if you'd like and join us for conversation at 6:15pm each Wednesday.
Sunday Faith Formation – beginning September 14, we will discuss a topic often left undiscussed: end-of-life issues. But it will happen for all of us. What does God say about it? How can I be prepared and prepare my family? Why are we so scared of death? We will talk about death from all angles - practical, theological, and emotional.
Thursday Women's Bible Study - beginning September 4, they will be studying the Book of Revelation. Come for this exciting conversation about an often misunderstood book of Scripture.
We hope you will plan to grow your faith this fall!

CARPETS CLEANED!
Because of a generous donation, we are getting the Worship Center's carpet cleaned this week - but WE NEED YOUR HELP! Efficient cleaning requires that all of the chairs are out of the space! If you are able to help move chairs out, please be at church at noon on Thursday. If you can help set them back up, please come on Friday at 8:30 am. It will also be appreciated if we can keep this carpet clean! PLEASE if you bring coffee into the worship space, use a lid! And if it spills, please clean it up right away! It is all of our responsibility to care for this space!

END OF SUMMER BONFIRE
Come celebrate the coming of fall with an end of summer bonfire in our New Life firepit on Wednesday August 27 at 6pm. Bring your own dinner and drink, and a chair if desired, but s'mores will be provided. Join in this time to share where you saw God this summer and what you're looking forward to in this new season. All are welcome!

FIRST NATIONS TOUR
New Life Church has secured a reservation for the “First Nations Cultural Tour” at UW Madison on Wednesday August 20th from 5:30-8:00pm. This tour provides an introduction to the 12,000 years of human history along the Lake Mendota shores and the relationship between the Native Nations and Teejop(the area known as Madison). There will be a fair amount of walking to various campus sites, historical markers and archaeological sites. Unfortunately, this tour is not fully physically accessible due to sustained periods of walking over various terrains. We can have up to 25 people attend. If you’re interested, please contact Kathy Mullen at (608) 469-8811 or kathy.mullen@sbcglobal.net.

ST MARK'S FOOD PANTRY
Thank you to all who have donated to St Mark’s food pantry. Last week your donations again filled the back of our SUV. Your support and generosity is so appreciated by those working at the pantry. It allows those shopping the pantry to have a more pleasant experience since they get the foods they want. Although any donations of shelf stable food are welcome, canned fruit, diced tomatoes and jam are currently in short supply. Donations can be placed on the table in the community room. Paper, plastic and reusable bags can also be donated.

SOCIAL PURPOSE FUND
We continue to need your help in order to be able to distribute gift cards to those in need - which totals on average about $1,000 every month! Because of the increased need, if you would be able to give to this fund, please submit checks with "Social Purpose Fund" in the memo or give online to that fund. Thank you! Also, please know that if you are experiencing any financial need (rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, medical, unemployment/furlough, etc.) you only need to let Pastor Heather know. This information will be kept confidential to her and our financial officers (treasurer and bookkeeper).
