Financial Summary from the Treasurer for Quarter 2
Income Trends
Income has been trending upward especially over the last three months and has exceeded our expenses allowing us to build up our savings. Income through June 2024 was $201,000. Over the same period for 2025 it was $220,700. We continue to see a rise in online giving. For the month of June, $11,300 came in through Vanco constituting 34% of our total monthly giving.
Expenses
Expenses, year to date, for 2025 totaled $216,463 leaving us with a net positive income of $4,400. Throughout the same period in 2024, expenses were $220,000 for a net loss of $19,000.
Property Projects
We have a number of projects being discussed. While some are scheduled, others are waiting for quotes before we actually schedule them. All of the projects need coordinators and volunteers. For those projects waiting for quotes, the estimates are rough.
| |
We budgeted and were approved in the spending guide up to $29,000 for maintenance and improvements. Year to date, we have spent $6,000.
Cash Position
As of June 30th, we were carrying $209,646 cash on hand. In late June we transferred $82,000 from our money market at Summit, .25% yield to our Mission Investment Fund account yielding 2.45%. At time of reconciling the books, $22,000 had not yet settled in the MIF account.
Thank you for your generosity!

FIRST NATIONS TOUR
New Life Church has secured a reservation for the “First Nations Cultural Tour” at UW Madison on Wednesday August 20th from 5:30-8:00pm. This tour provides an introduction to the 12,000 years of human history along the Lake Mendota shores and the relationship between the Native Nations and Teejop(the area known as Madison). There will be a fair amount of walking to various campus sites, historical markers and archaeological sites. Unfortunately, this tour is not fully physically accessible due to sustained periods of walking over various terrains. We can have up to 25 people attend. If you’re interested, please contact Kathy Mullen at (608) 469-8811 or kathy.mullen@sbcglobal.net.

GIVING TREE
Earlier this month, we launched a donation opportunity to continue to support the Afzali family. They are the family of 7 from Afghanistan that New Life sponsored who recently moved to Madison. THANK YOU for taking all of the ornament tags! If you would like to still be able to help, or if you participate in worship remotely and would like to make a donation or for any other questions, please contact Kathy Mullen. Please return gifts, unwrapped, on or before Sunday, July 27th! Thank you!

ST MARK'S FOOD PANTRY
St Mark’s food pantry is blessed to have New Life Church as a community partner. There are lots of choices when it comes to donating and our generosity as a congregation is amazing I wish everyone could experience the smiles and thanks I receive every time a delivery is made. It is definitely heartwarming to know our donations make a difference in the lives of others Although condiments are always a need in the summer months, the pantry is running especially low on soup (chicken noodle or meat with vegetables), ramen noodles and jellies/jams. Donations (including paper, plastic and reusable bags) can also be placed on the table in the community

SOCIAL PURPOSE FUND
We continue to need your help in order to be able to distribute gift cards to those in need - which totals on average about $1,000 every month! Because of the increased need, if you would be able to give to this fund, please submit checks with "Social Purpose Fund" in the memo or give online to that fund. Thank you! Also, please know that if you are experiencing any financial need (rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, medical, unemployment/furlough, etc.) you only need to let Pastor Heather know. This information will be kept confidential to her and our financial officers (treasurer and bookkeeper).
