CONCERT ON THE HILL AND COOKOUT WERE A SUCCESS
Over 100 people came out for some food and fun on Sunday evening, June 26th! The dance troupe, Magnum Opus, performed for us and shared news of their new Arts Studio opening soon. Then, Mad City Funk played great music! Plus, our youth and leaders headed to the Boundary Waters served a cookout dinner as a fundraiser throughout the afternoon. Thank you to everyone who helped out or joined us! The youth thank you for your support - they raised over $850! (See scenes below from the event)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR JULY WELCOME TEAM
We always encourage and appreciate volunteers for the Welcome Team to help out with parts of the worship service, such as greeter, welcome table, usher, tellers and coffee server.
Looking ahead, here is the link to the JULY sign-up sheet. Please check your summer schedules for availability. Ideally, if we have "many hands" to help, we can rotate and have different people taking shifts.
We need helpers for 8 a.m. this Sunday, July 3rd - If you attend the early service and could help out, please call the office (duties are very light). Anyone is invited to join the Welcome Team anytime!

WACKY WEDNESDAY
Dinner and Wacky Wednesday normally takes place for ALL AGES, with dinner beginning at 5:30 pm!
Tonight is "Crazy Sock and Shoe Day," and mark your calendars for a Pool Party at the Wundrows' house on July 6th. Tonight's meal will be brats and hot dogs.
We need more helpers for Wednesday dinners in JULY! If you can help, it's easy, and you can get family, friends, or a group to help you! See the sign-up sheets by the kitchen serving window. And then after dinner, we’ll select a couple of different wacky activities to do together – outdoor and indoor options. For example, crafts, games, or movies inside and group games or projects outside (weather permitting).
Come have a good time, with fellowship, great food, and fun!

Thursday from 7am-6pm
Friday from 7am-3pm
Saturday (free will donations) from 8-11am
We will once again host our Super Sale with proceeds going to our youth and children ministries. Start looking through things at your house and donate them to our Super Sale! Please bring items into the ReCreation Center and place on the tables behind the partition. Please do not sort anything. If you would like to help with sorting beforehand or on the days of the sale we will be taking those volunteers - let us know in the church office about pre-sort, to be done certain times before the sale.
Here is the sign-up sheet to help volunteer for the event on the dates above! We'll also have a printed copy out on the table this Sunday at worship.
The organizers are asking that people bring in their donations this week. We are having two big "sorting parties" for the Super Sale...this Sunday, July 3 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and on Wednesday, July 13 at 5:30 p.m. to prepare for the sale starting the next day. SOCIAL PURPOSE FUND
Throughout the pandemic, we have been able to help so many families in the community because of this fund. Most recently, due to inflation especially at the gas pump, we have distributed almost $2000 in much-needed gift cards. Please know that if you are experiencing any financial need (rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, medical, unemployment/furlough, etc.) you only need to let Pastor Heather know. This information will be kept confidential to her and our financial officers (treasurer and bookkeeper).
Also, because of these increased needs, if you would be able to give to this fund, please submit checks with "Social Purpose Fund" in the memo or give online to that fund. Again, thank you for caring and sharing!

WAYS TO PARTNER
We have established a partnership with the Nehemiah Center, which means that we will be looking for and offering ways for you to connect with their leadership in our area serving communities of color. We will highlight ways that you can personally and with your family grow this partnership alongside what we're doing as a congregation. Kathy Mullen is currently collecting the following items (women's toiletries): shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, razors, lotion, deodorant and body wash. Just place items on or around the table in the front lobby.
Other ways you and your family can partner: support black-owned businesses (click here for a list), visit www.lirs.org to support refugees, visit www.ldr.org to help with disaster response around the nation, or www.elca.org to find another way to give back to people in need.

NEW LIFE BOOK DISCUSSION – August 14 & 21 right after the second service.
HOW THE WORD IS PASSED: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America, Clint Smith
A deeply researched and very readable exploration of the legacy of slavery and its imprint on centuries of American history, How the Word Is Passed illustrates how some of our country's most essential stories are hidden in plain view—whether in places we might drive by on our way to work, holidays such as Juneteenth, or entire neighborhoods like downtown Manhattan, where the brutal history of the trade in enslaved men, women, and children has been deeply imprinted.
This is the UW Madison BIG READ 2022-2023 SO there will be lots of copies available at local libraries. Current purchase price on Amazon is $14.11. We also expect to have a small number of copies available by early July.
