Music Update
Hello St. Paulâs,
As we head into the summer months, we want to update you on the cathedralâs music ministry. As you know, our choirs are sounding magnificent this season, perhaps the best in a long time. This is due in large part to the presence of our staff singers. We do our best to offer compensation to these professional singers that is worthy of their skills, and this adds up to a considerable expense. Without these staff singers, it is not possible to offer choral leadership of worshipï»ż... Click here to read more.

Episcopal News Services:
Solidarity With Our Indigenous Neighbors
Bishops Julia Whitworth (Dio Mass) and Douglas Fisher (Dio Western Mass) have issued a joint statement that offers support for the Massachusetts Indigenous Legislative Agenda. The Agenda was created to benefit Native Americans residing there, and perhaps will become a model for other forward-thinking states. Click here to view.
To summarize, the Agenda calls to:
- Remove racist mascots
- Honor Indigenous Peoples Day
- Celebrate and teach Native American culture and history
- Protect Native American heritage
- Support the education and futures of Native American Youth
The bishops have also endorsed an Indigenous Peopleâs Day pilgrimage to Deer Island, the site of Metacometâs Rebellion or âKing Phillipâs Warâ in 1675, which ended with thousands of casualties, enslavement and indentured servitude of many Native Americans, and increased expansion of English colonization:

Sacred Ground In Action Ministry:
Juneteenth!
Juneteenth (June + 19) is a commemoration of the day that the enslaved in Texas first learned of their freedom after the Civil War. Although the announcement delivered by the US military was delayed for two and a half years following Lincolnâs Emancipation Proclamation, this day has become a second day of independence celebration for many Americans. Click here to learn about this important day in our history - or to refresh your memory!
Prayer:
God of all peoples, of all nations,
On this day of freedom, we celebrate triumphantly with all people of goodwill that we might walk arm in arm towards justice for all. Breathe into us your eternal breath, that we may never tire of ensuring a flourishing life for all people, but most especially, those brothers and sisters whose growth has been stifled by the trauma of being enslaved.
O God, we know and have seen your goodness, and because of it, we cling to the hope that unity and liberation for all are within our grasp. Continue to show us your goodness, that we may have the strength to advance your kingdom with humility and grace. - Catholic Health Association

Simpler Living Creation Care Ministry:
Multi-Faith Collaboration on Ocean Health
Following last week's UN Oceans Conference, a delegation of 80 faith-based organizations sent a collaborative declaration to the United Nations Environment Program.
The declaration was informed by Indigenous Anglicans from the Pacific ââŠ[who] have inspired others to rethink their relationship with the ocean - understanding it as water of life and hope, the lungs our our world - and to rethink [our] consumption and emission patterns that pollute it.â
Members included the Anglican Communionâs UN representative Rev. Glenn Ruffle. He said, âAs we move forward from UNOC3, we have to start living as real followers of Jesus â and it will cost us. The convenient flights, the plastic bottles, the shares in oil, the lack of interest in far-off sinking islands â these things have to end. Instead, we need to be marked by our radical love for our neighbors, near and far, and be willing to carry their suffering with them, united in caring for the oceans that sustain us all.â
Please read and sign the declaration Click Here.
