Box Tops
When you shop at Walmart and buy five Box Tops for Education products now through 9/10/18 and scan your receipt with the Box Tops Bonus App, you automatically earn 50 Box Tops - that's $5 for Lewis F. Mayer Middle School!
Sixth Grade Science
Sixth grade science classes have been very busy getting to know each other, work in groups, and we even started our first experiment.  Each class began the week participating in a marshmallow tower challenge. The winning groups tower measured 53 cm. from the table to the top of the marshmallow.  Way to work together! We ended the week with our first experiment where we tested whether or not drop height impacts the size of the water splatter.

FACE Corner (Family and Community Engagement)

Happy 2018-2019 School Year!

As we all get back into the swing of things, one of the most important questions families (hopefully) discuss is " Where and When will my child do their homework?"

The "Where" should be a quiet place at a desk or table with phone and TV off.  The "When" is best between the hours of 4-7p.m.  Let them have a break after school, but they should pick the same time everyday (M-Th). For some students, they do best when it is broken up....maybe 30 minutes before dinner and 30 minutes after dinner.

**Weekends should be devoted to any missing or make-up work so when the student returns on Monday, they start fresh and caught up!

As the new FACE coordinator, if there is anything that I can do to assistant you or your child so that they can come to school and be successful, please do not hesitate to email me at  csullivan@fairview.k12.oh.us
