Sermon Series October 6 - November 30, 2024
The book of Acts describes the birth of the Church and the continuation of the ministry of Jesus. It reveals God’s plan for global redemption, his purpose for our lives, and the power he has given us to accomplish his mission. While the book of Acts has an ending, the story does not. We are a part of that story today. We are the Church!

| We have exciting news to share about our youth ministry department! As you may know, in August we began the search for a Director of Children's Ministry. Two exceptional candidates applied, leaving our interview panel wondering if there was a way to incorporate both candidates and their unique gifts into our team. After many conversations with the hiring panel and the council executive team, we arrived at a creative structure that provides increased capacity for ministry and room for growth, while not stretching our budget. Kim Taylor, our faithful youth director of over 20 years, will transition into an expanded role: Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry. Our two new part-time team members are Doug Anderson and Riley Santelman. Doug will be the Children's Ministry Coordinator (birth-fifth grade) and Riley Santelman will be the Youth Ministry Coordinator (sixth-twelfth grade). We will introduce them to the congregation on Sunday, October 27th and Wednesday, October 30th during worship. We're so grateful for our entire youth ministry team and are excited to see how all their gifts will support youth and families in this next season of ministry! | |

Hurricane Helene has devastated communities across the southeastern United States. Our prayers remain with all who are affected, those experiencing grief and suffering, and workers providing emergency response.
Your gifts help provide immediate relief, such as water, clothing, gift cards, tarps and other needs. Since many hurricanes also require a long-term response, Lutheran Disaster Response provides support on the long road to recovery with disaster case management, construction management, unmet needs, and emotional and spiritual care.
Give online using the button below or write checks to First Lutheran Church will Hurricane in the memo line.
