Kitt Dobry & Hannah Williams -
Biography
Kitt Dobry
graduated from Moore College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration and in Art History. Her thesis was a series of illustrations narrating the events of the Gaelic Wars focusing on the Celtic leaders Vercingetorix and Boudicca. Her art history thesis explored the work of fantasy illustrator Frank Frazetta.
Shortly after graduation, Kitt was invited into the prestigious Philadelphia Sketch Club where she showed and sold her work.
Kitt has worked as an assistant art director; a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, and fine artist; and as an art teacher. Currently, Kitt is working on her first children’s book.
Hannah Williams
is a mixed-media artist born in Albuquerque, now living in Colorado. Prior to finishing her degree, she spent time at her high school alma mater teaching fine art to middle and high school students.
Hannah earned her BFA from The Museum School of Fine Arts, Boston, partnered with Tufts University. While her degree focused on traditional animation, she was exposed to an array of art-making practices and gained a significant appreciation for installation art. Post-college she obtained a job in the Furniture and Frames department of the MFA Boston until she and her husband moved to Colorado.
Working with both two and three dimensional mediums, she seeks to create a spark of recognition between the object and the viewer. Hannah’s ultimate goal in her work is to imbue inanimate objects with a life of their own.

Biography
“Move Through”
A new exhibition,
Move Through
, by Courtney C. Trowman opens August 3rd at the Jewish Educational Alliance featuring around 40 works of mixed media collage that will be on display until August 31st.
In
Move Through
, Courtney temporarily draws people’s attention away from fine art to fun(ky) art, fun being the key. Courtney aims to move the viewer through a whimsical journey, hoping they pause for the surprise details. Many of the pieces will also feature a poem or haiku description.
All the pieces on display were created with either the concept of ‘portals’ and/or ‘landscapes’ in mind, both of which a person makes the conscious choice to move through…or not. While Courtney says the show does not have a specific agenda or statement, she does invite the viewers to be drawn in by the fun and then find a theme or state of being of their own in each piece and ask themselves “Shall I move through?”
When asked about her collage art, Courtney says it was born out of an inherent need to create, a desire for another outlet other than dance or poetry, and specifically from her inability to draw or paint well. She became fascinated by collage and mixed media after seeing Robert Rauschenberg’s work for the first time. She says he gave hope to her inner Picasso. All her work consciously consists of upcycled and recycled items.
“I always have my eyes peeled for found objects or interesting bits of “trash” on the ground.” She also notices that one area of her creativity bleeds into all the others. You can see elements of both poetry and motion in her work.
The ‘Move Through’ art exhibition will surprise gallery visitors with its unique perspective, liveliness, multi-layers, and unexpected details in both materials and techniques.
