SPRC Announcement
I am pleased to announce the appointment of our new pastor, who will be joining us beginning July 1. Bishop Dan Schwerin, along with our District Superintendent, Rev. Wendy Hardin Hermann, and the Northern Illinois Conference Cabinet, have appointed Rev. Satya Sudhakar to be the Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church.
Rev. Satya is the Lead Pastor at Ottawa Epworth United Methodist Church since 2021. From 2018-2021, she was the Charge Pastor at Ashton and Franklin Grove United Methodist Church. She completed both her Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Office Management and has also earned a Christian Education Certification. Rev. Satya is originally from India. She is married to Rev. Dr. Solomon Sudhakar. Yes, they are a clergy couple. Rev. Solomon is also being appointed to a new Church within our district – Prairie Central. They have two beautiful daughters, Salomi (26) and Christine (19) and a fur baby Archie (6).
The Staff Parish Relations Committee (Janet K., Gary, Brenda, Bryan and Karen) met with Rev. Satya on Saturday and enjoyed getting to know her strengths and gifts. We talked about how she can support and help our congregation grow, and we’re excited to move forward together. Born and raised in India, she upholds her culture and traditions and deeply values multi-faith, multi-lingual diversity, promoting peace, justice and harmony. We will include more information on Rev. Satya in the upcoming newsletter. As we welcome our new Pastor, we invite the congregation to help make this transition smooth by offering grace, patience, and open hearts. Simple things like introductions, encouragement, and prayers will go a long way. Together, we can help create a warm and supportive start for this new chapter.
I will be available after service for any questions you may have on Rev. Satya and this transition. Click here to read Rev. Satya Sudhakar's bio.

Chair of Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)

Algonquin Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry is seeking valuable volunteers. The food pantry was established in 2000 to meet the growing needs of the underserved. Last year we served 12,105 clients and distributed 287,596 pounds of
food. Our gardens yielded 2,844 pounds of vegetables, herbs, fruits, & flowers. Of which, all was distributed freely. As our growing season approaches, we need volunteers to help feed our clients. Our hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. both outside and in the pantry. The work varies from day to say. We are located on Pyott Road. To contact us visit alithfoodpantry.org and scroll to the bottom. Fill in the contact information and in the message section type “volunteer gardens” or “volunteer other” and submit. You’ll be contacted within a few days. For more info please contact Algonquin/LITH Food Pantry at (847) 854-1904.

We never pray alone but together as a community. We have a prayer chain, a small group of those who pray for submitted requests throughout the week. Let us pray for our church family, friends, neighbors, and our nation. Let’s draw the circle wider. Contact the pastor to join.
If you would like to keep your prayer request in beyond 2 weeks, we would appreciate if you contact the office with an update.
