Backpack Buddies

BACKPACK BUDDIES THANKSGIVING TURKEY PROGRAM

Your Backpack Buddies program is providing a fully-cooked, complete Thanksgiving meal to the families of all of the children we serve. We estimate that will be approximately 80 families. The meals, purchased from PUBLIX, costs us $50 each, bringing our total estimated cost to $4,000.

Will you pitch in $50 or more to sponsor a meal for one of our Backpack Buddies families? Your support is extremely meaningful!!

To participate, either (a) send a check for the number of meals you want to sponsor to Congregation Agudath Achim, 9 Lee Boulevard, Savannah, GA 31405 (please note “Turkey Dinners” on your check) or (b) call the synagogue office at 912-352-4737 and tell them to bill your account for the amount you would like to donate for meals.

Thank you for the mitzvah of supporting these young children and their families! Wishing you and yours a Happy and Joyful Thanksgiving Holiday!

COSTCO
Dear Congregants,
In case you are not aware, we will be getting a Costco in Pooler, GA which will be opening Thursday, November 8th, 2021.
I have spoken to a representative about them stocking kosher items such as meat and cheeses, etc.
I was advised that the best way to have this done is to contact them through their feedback tab (you do NOT have to be a member to do so - I am not a member and I was able to send this in). The representative told me that all the managers that make these type of decisions will see your request if you do the following:
1. Go to costco.com
2. On the right side of the page there will be a sideways blue tab that says "FEEDBACK"
3. Click on the tab
4. A window will pop up saying "website" and "warehouse". Select "WAREHOUSE"
5. Then a map will pop up. There is a + and - sign on the map. Hit the - sign until you can see a red icon to select a store (such as the one in Charleston). Please select a store (note because its not open, we can not select the Pooler store yet)..
Once you click on the red icon, at the bottom of the pop up page you will see a black tab at the bottom of this page that says "Use this location." Click on this icon
6. Then the feedback page will open up- please fill it out (you will have to rate your warehouse experience even though you dont have any. Put in the comments section your request for them to carry kosher meat, deli, cheese, baked goods, etc and then click the black SUBMIT button at the bottom.

So, please take the time to fill this out if you would like Costco to carry kosher items

Thank you
Adam Pritzker
