Neighborhood Shofar/Tashlikh Services
Sunday, September 20
3:00 pm (except where noted)
In order to be able to fulfill the mitzvah of hearing the shofar on Rosh Hashanah, to observe the tradition of tashlikh services, and to offer everyone to gather safely in small groups, we are organizing neighborhood-based shofar and tashlikh services on the second day of Rosh Hashanah. EVERYONE who attends must observe social distancing and wear a mask while in attendance. Our #1 priority is safety and we ask for your assistance in keeping yourselves and your friends safe. If there is not a service in your area, please feel free to join the one closest to you.
Services will be held at the following locations:
Downtown: Calhoun Square (Gordon & Abercorn)
Isle of Hope: TBD
Landings: Landings Harbor Marina (600 Priest Landing Drive)--4:00 pm (Please note the different time)

Welcome our Hazzan Rabbi Feivel Rubinstein
Born and raised in Santa Monica, CA, Rabbi Feivel Rubinstein has spent his entire adult life working with Jewish communities around the country. After graduating with a degree in Music from the University of Colorado Boulder, Rabbi Feivel turned his attention towards the Rabbinate and was ordained in 2019 from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles. It was at Ziegler where he met his now wife Rabbi Sydni Rubinstein, who currently serves as the Rabbi for Agudath Achim in Shreveport, LA. Described as “a camp counselor by constitution and trade”, Rabbi Feivel currently owns and operates FreelanceJudaism, works for the North Louisiana Jewish Federation as their Program Director, as well as teaches in the local religious school. Helping to lead services for the High Holidays provides an opportunity to share the power of music and prayer with the Jewish community, and he looks forward to getting to know the community of Agudath Achim in Savannah. While the computer screen will be his window into the community this year, Rabbi Feivel hopes that this will be only the first of many opportunities to share the spirit of our tradition with Congregation Agudath Achim.
