Trinity in Unity:

Knowing God as Holy and Near

This first Sunday after Pentecost, we recognize "Trinity Sunday" and how we can best know and speak of God as One and also as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We will be encouraged to know and trust that God is nearer and more generous than most people have imagined. All are welcome and all are wanted among us! Classes 9:00 AM, worship 10:30 AM.

Live Stream Worship

Our worship services are available via YouTube for those who wish to join that way. Click the link above shortly before the service begin to join in 10:30 AM on Sunday or anytime afterward. DVD copies of the services are also available.

Prayer Requests

Additions and updates for prayer list or calendar of events are welcome by contacting the church office.

Special note for all Ministry Teams: Please notify the church office with any upcoming meetings or events for your team so we can add these dates to the calendar.

In addition to this prayer request list contained within each Friday's e-newsletter, we also have a "prayer chain" email list. We occasionally send immediate prayer requests to those who have opted in to receive the prayer chain and are committed to praying for each concern as they come. If you would like to be added to the prayer chain list, please notify the church office by email at secretary@yorkfirst.org or by phone (717) 755-0307. If you have a prayer request and desire it to be sent to this group, feel free to contact the church office anytime. Thank you!

Amendment to the Congregational Structure

The amendment to include a description of the Child Development Centers Ministry to our Constitutional Structure was first shared at the Congregational Forum May 5th. That was the first reading, we're required by our Constitution to have two readings of any amendment to the Congregational Structure. November 3rd at the Congregational Forum we will have the second reading and vote on the inclusion of this document to our Congregational Structure.

The reason this is being changed/added is that all of the Ministry Teams that report to the Leadership Team have a description and outline of the work that is to be done by the ministry team. The Child Development Center was listed as a Ministry Team but never had an outline of the work to be done.

This change from using the terminology of Child Development Center Board to the Child Development Center Ministry Team also aligns with the other Ministry Teams.

Please click on button to see the change we shared at the Congregational Forum.

VBS – SEEKERS IN SNEAKERS DISCOVER JESUS

Have you ever wanted your name to appear in lights on Broadway? Did you ever consider taking a stab at professional acting? Would you love to wear elaborate costumes like they do in Bridgerton? Well, if those are some of your dreams, our theater company is not for you! But… if you ever wanted to engage in a little bit of drama to help others learn more about the ways of Jesus and if you would like to have fun sharing the Good News with others, Vacation Bible School (VBS) is the place to be!

We are looking for some eager, energetic, enthusiastic “characters” of all ages (starting around 8 years old and going to at least 88) who would be willing to give a little of their precious time the week before and during Bible School to present the daily lesson in drama. No memorization of lines required. No hours of rehearsal and painful choreography. Just a few minutes of your time to help our children learn how to be “Seekers in Sneakers”! The skits are already written and we can take our own twist on them. Won’t you please consider joining us for this meaningful summer children’s ministry? If you are willing, please contact Kim Witkovsky or Diane Gibble and we will be glad to have you join us! The more, the merrier! We will spend a short time together the week of June 16 reading through and practicing our roles and then we will share our skits each night of VBS – June 23-27 – during the opening worship time between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Then you are free to leave unless you want to volunteer in other ways during the rest of the evening. Even if you can only join us one night, we don’t want to miss your talent and desire to serve. Looking forward to hearing from you very soon! Thanks so much!

If you need to reach the pastor outside of office hours, his mobile number is (717) 271-4888.
