Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
to all those who helped make VBS 2019 a success! We had a great time and could not have done it without all the support from so many of you. The kids had a blast and the adults did too. You all helped us to go “beyond what we could ask or imagine.”
Our offering project this year helped support the work of Brethren Volunteer Service. The kids loved watching the fuel tank to our rocket ship fill up as the week progressed. If you would like to help us “Go Beyond…” to help support BVS, please make your financial contributions by July 7
th
. Checks should be made out to York First with “BVS” on the memo line.
To help close the books on VBS 2019, if you are holding receipts (either to be reimbursed or not) please submit them to Sheryl Leaman by July 7
th
. As well, if you would still like to make a financial contribution to support VBS, please also make those contributions by July 7
th
.
VBS takes a lot of time, work, money, energy, and ….. But it is SO worth it! Thank you again for doing your part to help support the children of our church, the CDC, and our community.

TRIP TO GERMANTOWN - August 17, 2019
(Saturday).
The
Spiritual Enrichment Team
is planning a trip to Germantown (Philadelphia) lead by Pastor Bob Krouse. We will be visiting the first Church of the Brethren in America as well as its first baptismal site in the nearby Wissahickon Creek. More details as we firm things up, but the basics are that we hope to travel in the church vans leaving early, and arriving home by 8 pm at the latest---possibly much earlier. It will be a day of learning, fun, and fellowship. Please plan to join us!
SPECIAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING - September 8, 2019
(Sunday).
The
Master Planning Team
invites the whole church to attend a presentation and meeting featuring some proposed facility improvements. Lunch will be provided following worship, and the meeting will follow. More information will be forthcoming, but get it on your calendars now and plan to attend!

Pastor Joel can be reached most mornings in the church office Monday - Thursday from 9:00 AM to noon. Afternoons and evenings are often set aside for visiting those in need, for meetings, and for other pastoral duties. Pastor Joel is also available for Pastoral Counseling by appointment.
|
|
If you need to reach the pastor outside of office hours, his home phone number is
(717)318-5442, and his cell number is (717)271-4888 . You can also email him at
pastor@yorkfirst.org. Note that laws prevent hospitals from contacting a pastor without your permission when you are admitted, so you will need to let hospital staff know that you would like the hospital to contact your pastor.
