College and Career Updates

Application Deadline for Seniors
Parents of seniors, we shared the following deadlines with your students
recently and want you to be aware of them too:
  • If your student is applying to a college with a January 1 or January 5 application deadline, she must add the college to her Naviance list, request her transcript, and ask for essay assistance by December 14. College & Career will be closed during Christmas break and will be unable to send transcripts or review essays during that time.
  • The California State University (CSU) System extended their application deadline to December 15 for all California residents due to the fires in Northern and Southern California.
Career Exploration Lunchtime Speaker Series: Biomedical Engineering
Join alumnae Jenn Alandy Trahan '00 on Wednesday, December 5 during lunch in the College and Career Center (room 13). Jenn is a Wallace Stegner Fellow in the
Department of English at Stanford University. She will share her experiences working
as a writer and novelist. If your daughter is interested in writing or academia, please encourage her to attend. All grade levels are welcome.

College & Career Assignment for Freshmen
Last week during freshmen Big History classes, the College & Career Counselors introduced students to Naviance, our online college and career platform. Counselors guided students through an exploratory personality assessment and career inventory. The results of each student's Career Interest Profiler and corresponding assignment (due December 7) will provide the counselors with valuable information that will be used during the academic advising process next semester. Ask your daughter to share her results and the Holland Code with you.

Our Calendar is now online!
We update our online  College and Career calendar  every week with college events happening on-campus and throughout the Bay Area, like the upcoming NACAC and Performing Arts College Fair and the Coast-to-Coast College Consortium information session. We post annual parent information nights and in-class student programs too.  Bookmark our calendar  and stay in the know. Check out the calendar here
