Making Zines

Over the past few weeks, freshmen have been creating zines, handmade 8-page pamphlets that express an idea, ideology, or art. They made their zines (pronounced "zeens") in the Think, Make, Share classes, which blends digital literacy and art. At the same time, most of the students were reading Moxie in their English classes, a novel about a teenage girl who starts a feminist revolution at her high school. By physically making the art, holding it in our fingers, and trading finished zines by hand to hand, we have a better appreciation for the exchange of ideas. We are proud of the creative work these girls have made and that they are expressing themselves artistically.

AP Biology: darn those pesky mosquitoes
