Model United Nations team wins awards at Stanford and Diablo Valley College conferences

Model United Nations is a simulation of the actual United Nations where students step into the shoes of ambassadors from member states.

"Being able to eloquently defend your position empowers all of our club members and makes conferences like Stanford worth all the hours of preparation," said Laura Bocek, '20.

Ven a Ver Salinas: An Intersection of Christ's Love

Students travelled to Dorothy's Place in Salinas, a daytime kitchen and drop in shelter, to provide the type of assistance often called upon in the Gospels and at the core of Carondelet's commitment to serve the dear neighbor.

"Salinas reinforced the sisterhood vision for me and this was the first time I saw Jesus this clearly," said Athena L. '21.

Religious Studies teacher Adam Chaffey expressed, "There is an intersection of Christ's love when joy crosses with sorrow. Our students willingly gave the love of Christ in the form of warm meals and warmer smiles."

Thank you to all students, faculty, and staff for participating in Ven a Ver Salinas.
Varsity Volleyball: 5 Game Playoff Battle!

The Cougars Varsity Volleyball Team battled against Aragon but came up just short in game 5 of the Northern California CIF Playoffs. The Carondelet defense was strong all night and the team rallied in game 4 before dropping the close 5th game 15-12.

The Cougars finished the season 25-11. Coach Mix said, it was "such a great match to close out the year. I'm so proud of every one of these girls."  Congratulations, Cougars!

Author visit inspires students

Author Gregory Crouch spoke to student in Ms. Woo's English class on what it takes to be a published writer, with emphasis on the revision process, which can take from months to years.

Students asked questions that drew positive and frank remarks about the life of a writer and the writing process. Sarah P. '21 appreciated the emphasis Mr. Crouch placed on verbs as "the muscles of writing," she said.
