College and Career Updates
Seniors with Early
Application
Deadlines
Parents of seniors, as the November 1 Early Application deadline approaches, here's what you need to know:
-
The college counselors will send transcripts, counselor letters of recommendation, and teacher letters of recommendation by the Nov. 1 deadline. Your student may submit her application at any time. She does not need to wait for us to send these components.
-
Remind your student to make sure her list is accurate in Naviance. This will ensure smooth delivery of transcripts and letters.
-
Your student is responsible for sending her official test scores to colleges. She can do this by logging into her ACT or College Board account. Some schools do not need official scores. See the
list here.
-
If your student is eligible for an ACT or SAT Fee Waiver, she is also eligible for a Common Application Fee Waiver. Advise her to talk with her college counselor about this.
-
Parents can help their students by tracking financial aid deadlines and completing the FAFSA and/or CSS Profile by those dates. Need help with the FAFSA? Attend our workshop on October 24 at 7:00 p.m.
FAFSA Workshop - Wed. Oct. 24
Seniors and their parents are invited to attend this step-by-step workshop to filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on
Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Carondelet Library.
Here on Wednesdays Late (HOWL)
Parents of seniors, encourage your students to drop by the College and Career Center on Wednesday afternoons for HOWL. Every week, many students attend HOWL and make significant progress on their college applications in this supportive, collaborative environment.
Our Calendar is now online!
We update our online
College and Career calendar
every week with college events happening on-campus and throughout the Bay Area, like the upcoming NACAC and Performing Arts College Fair and the Coast-to-Coast College Consortium information session. We post annual parent information nights and in-class student programs too.
Bookmark our calendar
and stay in the know.
