Dear Residents,

As we approach July 4, 2026— America’s 250th Birthday— we’re now less than three months away from this historic milestone. The Orangetown USA250 Committee, a group of dedicated residents lead by Carmel Reilly from my staff, has been working diligently for many months to ensure this celebration is truly memorable for our community.

The committee is in the final stages of planning a parade and the festivities that will follow at the German Masonic Park in Tappan. They are also soliciting ads for a commemorative journal that will be distributed at the festival. This is a wonderful opportunity to honor someone, support the celebration, and become part of Orangetown history. To place an ad, click HERE.

In the spirit of the 250th celebration, tomorrow from 10:30 am to 5 pm, the Orangetown Historical Museum & Archives will host a free event entitled “From Democracy to Disco” at the DePew House. Please see the flyer below for details.

Also tomorrow, from 12 pm to 5 pm, an Earth Day Celebration will take place on the St. Thomas Aquinas College campus. It’s a great way to celebrate our planet and learn more about environmental sustainability with food, music, vendors, and family-friendly activities.

Whatever you decide to do, I encourage you to get outside, enjoy the beautiful weather, and take advantage of everything our community has to offer.

Have a great weekend.

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny

The Great American Clean-Up!

On Saturday, the Town of Orangetown and the Tappan Fire Department partnered with Keep Rockland Beautiful to host a community cleanup. Through this collaborative effort, volunteers came together to clean parks, roadways, and public spaces, helping to keep Orangetown clean, green, and vibrant.

Thank you to everyone who participated, and a special thanks to the Tappan Fire Department for the use of their firehouse and continued support.

Kula for Karma

Last Saturday evening, Supervisor Kenny attended the Kula for Karma “Make Mental Health a Human Right” event. Held at the Nyack Center, the event brought the community together to raise awareness and support for mental health initiatives. Congratulations to Brooke Malloy, Executive Director of the Rockland County Pride Center, who was honored at the event.
