Dear Residents,
With spring upon us and the weather finally warming up, more of us will be out and about—biking, walking, running and scootering (yes, it is a word)—so it seems like a good time for us all to be reminded of a few important safety tips:
Drivers: Put phones away and remain attentive while driving. Be sure to give cyclists at least 3 ft. of space when passing and always yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
Pedestrians: Stay alert, cross only at designated crosswalks, and make yourself visible, especially at dawn and dusk.
Cyclists: Follow the same rules of the road as vehicles—ride with traffic, use proper signals, obey traffic signs and equip your bike with lights. Always wear a helmet and ensure you are visible to others.
Let’s all do our part to keep our roads safe and enjoyable for everyone this season.
On April 9, 2026, from 1 pm to 7 pm, there will be a blood drive at Orangetown Town Hall. Please consider donating and help save a life.
Happy Easter, enjoy the rest of Passover, and have a wonderful weekend.
