Dear Residents,

The holidays are in full swing here in Orangetown—just scroll down to see all the exciting events happening. And what better way to kick off the season than by stopping by the St. Thomas Aquinas College Winter Wonderland Family Festival tomorrow? You’ll find a fantastic lineup of vendors—including our very own Orangetown USA250 Committee. They’ll be there sharing information about the July 4, 2026 parade celebrating America’s 250th birthday. If you go, be sure to drop by and say hello… just be warned, you might leave as our newest volunteer!

On Thanksgiving Day, a water main break left many residents without water, and several reached out to my office to express frustration with the lack of communication from Veolia. In response, we contacted Veolia to discuss how they could improve outreach during future outages. Good news—Veolia informed us that an online outage map and enhanced notification tools are already in development. In the meantime, residents who register their account online can sign up to receive outage updates via text or email. Please click HERE to register.

We had a bit of excitement in town this past Wednesday when Law & Order: SVU rolled into Blauvelt to film—complete with a custom-built shed that was dramatically blown up for one of their scenes! Thank you to the Orangetown Police Department and the Blauvelt Fire Department for working seamlessly together to keep the area safe. If you’d like to stay in the loop about upcoming filming in Orangetown, you can sign up for email notifications HERE.

Whatever you do this weekend, have a great one!

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny

2025 Penguin Plunge Guest Bartending Event

Supervisor Kenny and Rob Bonomolo – of Pearl River Little League fame – stepped behind the bar at O’Grady’s Castle to guest bartend in support of the Penguin Plunge. Supervisor Kenny also took the opportunity to present Mike Lynch, co-founder of the Penguin Plunge, with a check for $1,130—the funds raised in September at the Splashdown in Orangetown event. It was a great night of community spirit, teamwork, and generosity. Couldn’t make it but want to donate? Click HERE.

Winter Light Christmas Experience

Supervisor Kenny was the first guest to tour the Winter Light Christmas Experience at the German Masonic Park in Tappan. Chris Johnson, a local member of the Masons, guided her through the illuminated maze and into the festive holiday village, where each hut was beautifully decorated and Supervisor Kenny was greeted by none other than Santa himself. This event will be going on until January 4, 2026. For more information, click HERE.
