Dear Residents -
I hope everyone enjoyed the summer, despite the intense heat, humidity, and frequent rain.
Tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Orangetown PBA will be hosting its annual ceremony tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. at Orangetown Town Hall. Please see below for a list of other local events commemorating the anniversary.
This November, Orangetown voters will be asked to vote on a proposition which, if approved, would authorize the Town of Orangetown to collect a one-time fee from the buyer of a property in Orangetown. Funds collected would be deposited into a dedicated account earmarked for the Town to acquire properties to preserve open space, create parks, protect historic properties, protect wildlife habitats and more—without the need to increase your property taxes. For more detailed information, see below or click HERE.
There are several exciting things happening in Orangetown. After a long wait, the Lidl Supermarket in Tappan will open on September 16, 2026. In the Orangeburg Shopping Center, Old World Food Market will be opening in the space next to CVS, and Dunkin’ will be relocating to a new, stand-alone building.
Every new business creates jobs, strengthens our local economy, expands our shopping and dining options, and adds to the vibrancy that makes Orangetown such a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.
We love welcoming new businesses to our community. If you know of a business that recently opened or is coming soon, please email supervisor@orangetown.com so we can highlight their arrival and give them a warm welcome to Orangetown.
To all who celebrate, have a healthy, happy and sweet New Year.
Have a great weekend.
Regards,
