Dear Friends,

I hope you are well. This week, I was named to the Senate Committee on Elections, Ethics and Rural Issues. The committee is chaired by State Senator Kathy Bernier of Chippewa Falls. I’m excited about this opportunity. Now that the November election is certified, it is critical to protect the integrity of our future elections. I look forward to looking into the November election and working on ways to protect the rights of Wisconsin voters and to protect the integrity of our electoral process. I expect the committee to hold a joint hearing with the State Assembly's Campaign and Elections Committee next week.

We continue to see thousands of new COVID-19 infections each day in our state. I ask every Wisconsinite to take the virus seriously and take precautions. Please be careful and continue to follow CDC guidelines, wear a mask, social distance, and wash your hands. It’s important to avoid lockdowns that create their own health crises in delayed medical care, mental health stresses, and the loss of businesses and jobs.

As always, if you have any concerns or ideas on how to improve our great state, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 608-266-5830 or by email at

On, Wisconsin!
HOPE Agenda Author Resigns
On Tuesday, the Assembly C0-chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, and my friend, State Representative John Nygren, announced his resignation to take a job in the private sector.

Wisconsin is in better shape because of the efforts of John Nygren. His leadership has protected taxpayers, created an environment to grow jobs, and made our state a national leader in fighting the opioid crisis.

His HOPE agenda was more than a slogan, it provides real hope to people caught in addiction and for the people who love them. His work has undoubtedly saved many lives in Wisconsin.

I wish John well in his next adventure. I am proud of our work together as Co-chairs of the Joint Committee on Finance and of the many bills we authored. Most of all, I am proud to call John Nygren my friend.

Stop the COVID Spread
We are still seeing new cases, and that is a major concern, especially for our front-line health care workers and hospitals. It’s more important than ever that we do what we can to stop the spread of COVID-19.

It is vital to keep the stress off our health care system and businesses so we can get through this pandemic as quick and as safely as possible.
