Dear Friends,

Happy Opening Day! Good luck to our Brewers as they begin another exciting season.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that Governor Tony Evers exceeded his authority by extending his emergency order beyond the 60-days allowed in state law. I'm glad the courts agreed that we don't lose our rights in a pandemic and said it violated the separation of powers.

Please continue to be careful and follow CDC guidelines. Continue to wear a mask when necessary, practice social distancing, wash your hands, and get vaccinated.

If you are eligible and having trouble finding the COVID-19 vaccine in your area, the State of Wisconsin now has a map of vaccine providers. The website not only helps link people to the vaccine but also provides information on how the state is distributing doses. The state also has a COVID-19 Vaccine Assistance Hotline. The hotline is offering personal assistance for vaccine-related questions. The toll-free number is 1-844-684-1064.

The City of Mequon is hosting twelve COVID-19 vaccination clinics at city hall. Click here for times and details.

As always, if you have any concerns or ideas on how to improve our great state, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 608-266-5830 or by email at

Senate Education to Research Federal Funding
Next Thursday, I will chair a joint hearing of the Senate and Assembly Education Committees. We will hear testimony from the Department of Public Instruction and others regarding federal funding of our K-12 schools.

With all the federal funding coming for COVID-19 relief, it's important to get a handle on how much our districts can expect, eligible uses, and discussions on long-term goals.

April is Donate Life Month
This week, I introduced a resolution to declare April as Donate Life Month in Wisconsin.

As you may know, my husband was on the organ donation waiting list when he passed away, so I know first-hand what it's like to wait and hope.

Right now, there are more than 2,000 people on the organ donation waiting list in our state. Almost half have waited more than two years.

It's my hope designating April as Donate Life Month in Wisconsin will bring more attention to the need for more organ donors. If you would like to add your name to the list visit
Happy Easter!
Please Donate Blood, Plasma
One way you can help is by donating blood. If you have recovered from COVID-19, please especially consider donating your plasma.

You can find out where to donate here and here.
