We Need Your Help!
We are working on coordinating volunteers for our upcoming host week.
As a host church in partnership with Family Promise of Morris County, CUMC provides hospitality to families in Morris County experiencing homelessness. Our volunteers stand in solidarity with the families in the Emergency Shelter Program living in temporary motel shelter. Now once again it is time to for us to help out during the week November 13 through 20. We need volunteers to prepare home made meals and shop and deliver groceries to the families. There are three families with four very young children.
Family Promise has a proven formula for helping families achieve self-sufficiency, rescuing children from the powerful undertow of generational poverty. Their success depends on the works of people like us, who believe the poor are Blessed. For information on how you can help out please contact Claudia Shaw, chs1munk@gmail.com (973) 454-2014; or Hilary Stannard hillystann84@gmail.com, (973) 650-8715.

Keep Warm and Support RISE!
From now until December 4th order a soft blanket that makes a great Christmas gift! This sweatshirt blanket fundraiser will help us to continue our mission! It's a great Christmas gift for your favorite RISER or yourself. It can keep you warm while dreaming about the upcoming summer RISE week. You'll love wrapping yourself in it's cozy navy sweatshirt material against the winter chill when at home or bring it along for the occasional cool evening at the picnic. The blanket will look like the image on the left with the dimentions of 60" x 50". All proceeds will go to support our summer mission.
Risingville Intercommunity Service Effort (RISE) is a mission of the Chatham United Methodist Church in Chatham, New Jersey that links youth groups to families in need in Western New York. We provide urgent home repairs free of charge. Unfortunately, this year, costs for tools, building supplies, and vehicle maintenance continue to increase. This fundraiser will help to offset these costs.

The CUMC Church Council has voted unanimously to follow the CDC Covid Data tracker for Morris County to evaluate weekly Covid levels. Going forward, this tracker will help guide us in determining our indoor mask usage for all CUMC functions. Covid levels and recommendations are updated weekly on Thursday nights by the CDC. These updates will be used at CUMC from Friday-Friday and will state if masks required (high level) or optional (medium/low). You may check to see what the current Morris County Covid levels are prior to coming by clicking below.
