In Our Prayers

votive candle _002_.jpg

During the last Sunday's worship service, we received the following

requests for prayers...

  • For those impacted by the fire on Main Street this week.
  • For Marcy, having a difficult time after the sudden loss of her father.
  • Of Healing for the Martin family on the loss of their child.
  • Of Healing for a cousin going through a health crisis and seeking answers.
  • A friend with stage 4 breast cancer-praying for good scans and continued "no evidence of disease."
  • Of Concern and Healing for Jim G. (Kate R.'s dad). He is in the hospital with heart issues. Pray also for his wife, Theresa, who is deeply concerned for his health.
  • Of Joy, congratulations to Andrew Z. who received his Master's degree with distinction. (NC)

With Love & Thanks

Thank You for sharing the love and beauty, Sunnywoods!

Last week we were gifted with lovely red and white roses to share from Sunnywoods Florist. These roses were safely stored in their basement and were not damaged in the fire that destroyed the building last week. We chose to pay this kindness forward and shared all remaining roses with our neighbors in need at the Wednesday Food Distribution in our rear parking lot.

First Aid For Mental Health

Basic first aid skills are not only for physical health. Have you noticed that a colleague, friend or family member might be going through a difficult time? What do you do? What do you say? Unfortunately, for many of us this is not a hypothetical scenario, but a lived experience.

To help create a more empathetic community and environment within The United Methodist Church (UMC) for those struggling with their mental and emotional health, Wespath is offering first aid training for mental health to all its participants—at no cost. For more information about this training Click Here.

If you would like to participate in this as a small group that can process this information together at the Chatham UMC, please contact Pastor Jeff at revjmarkay@earthlink.net

The Madison Chatham Coalition needs your help! Please consider completing a brief anonymous survey designed to gather information about adult attitudes towards youth drug and alcohol use in Madison and Chatham. Participation is completely voluntary and you can discontinue the survey at any time. Your answers will help the Madison Chatham Coalition continue to provide substance abuse prevention resources and services to teens and parents in Madison and Chatham. Thank you for your consideration.
