  • Of thanks, for successful surgery for Anna (LVD)
  • Of gratitude for people helping people with food, shelter, and supplies following the recent Midwest tornadoes and the brush fires in Colorado.
  • Of gratitude for our church's online ministry and for those making this ministry possible.
  • Of gratitude and blessings for Nathanael Y. as he starts a new job next week.
  • For all affected by the Colorado wildfires.
  • For all who are traveling this week.
  • For Gayle R. who has terminal Cancer and is now at home hospice care. Surround her and her husband, Jonathan and her daughters Jenny and Flora with your love. (MB)
  • For Rob L., hospitalized in Vienna after breaking his leg.

Seeking to Hire, two part-time Sunday Morning Children’s Room Caregivers

CUMC’s two (2) Sunday Morning Service Caregivers will give parents a safe space for their children, ages 1-4, to be cared for while parents participate in choir rehearsal or church actives prior to the 10:00 a.m. service. The caregivers will report to the Associate Pastor for Children’s Ministries and will oversee the children's room on Sunday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Aspects of the position include: maintaining procedures in accordance with Safe Sanctuary policies; maintaining cleanliness and safety in the children’s room; ensuring that check-in processes and staff to child ratios are followed; handling and resolving any issues or concerns with children and informing supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues, and maintaining a positive environment and a high level of care and engagement with children. Minimum age for this position is 21 years old. Applicants will undergo a background check.

The ukulele orchestra will next meet online and in person on Saturday, January 8th, in the Asbury Room.

The Chatham Borough Committee on Diversity and Inclusion is organizing a food drive from 10AM-12Noon on Martin Luther King Day to benefit our CUMC Community Food Pantry. Donations can be delivered, contact free, by driving through our rear parking lot. Click Here to see and print flier.


Volunteers to help unload cars and stock our shelves will be needed as well.
