Donations
If you'd like to make a donation to AJ, you can make a donation online, on our website. Or, you can click here to download a donation form.

We are introducing two new donation funds:
  • The Tamhui Fund. A Tamhui was the Jewish version of a Soup Kitchen. We’re repurposing the Tamhui to provide funds for food and meals for those in a temporary crunch.
  • The Jewish Summer Camp Fund. Summer camp is expensive, and Jewish Summer Camp is one of the best ways to instill a sense of Jewish pride and identity in our youth. This fund helps AJ subsidize those in need.

Attending AJ Friday Evening or Saturday Morning Services in Person

The AJ Reopening Task Force met on Thursday evening, June 24 to review CDC guidelines, discuss best practices for in-person services, and provide updates to protocols and guidelines. In Montgomery County, positivity rates of COVID are continuing to decline. Following discussion and review, the Task Force has decided to suspend the Guidelines for in-person services which have been in place for the past several months. Instead, those attending services at AJ are asked to abide by the following:

  • Pre-register for services by completing the on-line registration form or calling the office.(Please note: This link is for registrations in July. Last month's registration link will not work.)
  • Use hand sanitizer before entering the sanctuary. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.
  • Those who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks -- they are asked to provide proof of vaccination.
  • Those who are not fully vaccinated may attend in-person services but must wear masks while inside the building.

If you would like to attend Friday evening and/or Saturday morning services, you must pre-register by 2:30 PM Friday afternoon.

All other services will still be by Zoom only.
A Tip for Using Zoom
If you are having trouble with links for AJ services or events that are held via Zoom, here's another way to get into a meeting.

1. Go to https://zoom.us.
2. Click on "Join a Meeting" in the upper right. It looks like this:
You'll see a screen that looks like this:
3. A meeting ID is included with all Zoom information we distribute. Type or copy and paste the meeting ID into the box (just the numbers).
4. Click "Join." You will be placed into the meeting or be put in a "Waiting Room" until the meeting starts, or until the host of the meeting lets you in. Enjoy your meeting!
Zoom Update
A new update for Zoom has been released. For best results and to avoid any problems, update the Zoom application on your computer. For instructions on how to do so on your computer, use one of the links below.

What's Happening
Rav Shai is holding a Torah Study session each Shabbat during our summer hours. There are two purposes for the sessions. The first is Torah lishmah, study for its own sake. The second purpose is to introduce congregants to English sources that will be helpful in preparing your own divrei Torah. Texts will be provided both for those on Zoom and those in the chapel. Feel free to attend any or all sessions. Here is the Zoom info.

By phone: Please dial 929.436.2866 or 301.715.8592.
Meeting ID#: 985 2360 8383
(Password required. For congregants, it will be included in the weekly password email. If you are not a congregant but would like to attend Torah Study, call the synagogue office at 215.635.6611.)
