Dear Saint Rose Families,

The Sponsor a Student Fund provides tuition assistance to families who attend Saint Rose Catholic School. It is well supported by our parish and school families.  Each year about 30 students receive this support.  It might be a family that otherwise might not consider attending Saint Rose, or it might be a family that has been here for years but is facing new financial obstacles.  Whatever the reason, we know that Saint Rose Catholic School is a wonderful place for our students to grow and learn.  The last thing we want is for someone to leave our community based on financial need.  All tuition assistance requests are reviewed by a third party and then reviewed by an administrative team here at Saint Rose.
I appreciate the contributions that have already been sent in.

Student Release Monarch Butterflies

The Saint Rose Catholic School third graders and three year old preschool students teamed up to help raise and release Monarch butterflies.  The students have had a wonderful time learning about Monarchs and the ecology that is required for them.  They watched them grow and go through their caterpillar to butterfly metamorphosis.  The butterflies were released in the church's prayer garden.

Aarrgghhh Matey!

Congratulations Jackson!

Congratulations to Saint Rose Catholic School second grader Jackson Bell on his recent baptism here at Saint Rose.  We are very proud of Jackson and his decision to be baptized within the Catholic Church.

Eucharistic Adoration & Reconciliation

As we did last year, we are continuing to offer the monthly opportunity for 3rd - 8th graders to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Once a month teachers bring their students over to the church during their religion period for Confession and prayer. For this year, we also decided to offer Eucharistic Adoration during the time the students come over for Confession. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament where the consecrated host is in the golden monstrance allows for a time of prayer and reflection directly with Jesus who is truly present in the Eucharist. We believe Jesus is present in His body, blood, soul, and divinity upon the altar. The students learn the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus just as we would with a friend. The more time we spend with that friend the more we get to know that person and grow in relationship with that friend. This is also true in our relationship with Jesus. The more time we spend with Jesus in prayer the more our relationship with Jesus is strengthened and enriched. Our love for Jesus is also strengthened as we experience His love in Eucharistic Adoration. This is another great opportunity that our students receive here at Saint Rose School.

Blessings, Fr. David Kidd

It's that time of year again!

Dads are welcome and encouraged to join their children for a donut, juice/water and coffee before school.

We offer this on two days and divide the school alphabetically.  However, if you can't make it on your "assigned" day, no problem!  Just sign up for the day that works best for you.  Also, if dad is unable to attend, grandfathers, step-dads, or uncles are welcome in their absence.

It's important to sign up however, so we can get an accurate donut count.

This is a free event sponsored by the Pirates Parents Club

GRANDPARENTS' DAY reminders...

Grandparents' Day is just a few days away and we are looking forward to making some cherished memories!  During the sessions, grandparents and students will have the chance to enjoy a snack together, take some photos, visit classrooms, and do a service project to benefit Helping Hands of St. Louis in downtown Toledo.

A few reminders...

  • Arrival time for Session I is 9-9:15 am.  Arrival time for Session II is 1:10-1:25 pm.  Please arrive during these times to avoid conflicts with student drop-off and pick-up.
  • Lunch for grandparents is not part of the program.  Students will eat with their classes.
  • If a students will be leaving with a grandparent, parents should email their teachers in advance.  Students are also required to be signed-out in their classrooms that day.

We could still use some parent volunteers,
 as well as cookie donations

For those parents picking up students at the end of the day, please
DO NOT come into the Saint Rose parking lot until after 3:20.
This will allow grandparents to leave the lot
without being blocked in.

Thank you!

Attention Parents! We need your tabs!!
Pop tabs, beer tabs, soda water tabs!
Look for the drop off house inside the school entrance

We are collecting  tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Toledo.  The  tabs are taken to a recycling center in return for money that is used to provide meals, toiletries, and other associated costs incurred by guests staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

So, as you quench your thirst, please  pop off the  tabs and save them for the school.

Thank you in advance for all your help!
For questions please contact Natasha Lydey at  nlydey@yahoo.com
