Happening Around Saint Rose
Catholic Schools Week Learning & Celebrations!
Kindergarteners built polar bear shelters using marshmallows and toothpicks. They also celebrated 100 days of school by dressing as 100 year olds and making necklaces with 100 beads.
Eighth grade math students participated in a scavenger hunt around the Saint Rose campus as part of STEM day during Catholic Schools Week. The students solved systems of linear equations and located the solutions on a map of the campus that had been overlaid with a coordinate grid. The final destination was where their prize was found… In front of the church where we find our best rewards!
Second grade celebrated Fairy Tale Day along with STEM day so all of our character kiddos tried to be like the third little in the “Three Little Pigs” and build the strongest, tallest house. They could only use toothpicks and marshmallows. Brooke Prost was my winner with 11 inches tall!
First grade students had to create a burrow for a groundhog using popsicle sticks, straws, pipe cleaners, scrap paper, glue, and tape.

They also celebrated 100 days of school by hopping on one foot for 100 seconds. They each had to estimate how many times they could do a certain activity in 100 seconds then they figured out the actual number! We also clapped our hands and wrote our names for 100 seconds.
6th graders have been studying energy in science class. To show what they've learned, they made catapults and tested them. They also learned how to "step through and index card".
2nd Grade Fairy Tale Day

2nd graders recently completed their Fairy Tale unit and presented to their classmates.
What a fun and exciting day for the 2nd graders at Saint Rose!
