Dear Saint Rose Families,

This weekend's forecast is a reminder of how weather can impact our day to day operations.  Please remember that Saint Rose Catholic School follows Perrysburg School District for all weather related delays and closings.  Several of the local news stations offer alert notices. You will just need to select Perrysburg.  Please remember to check the news in the morning before leaving when the roads are snowy, icy or the weather is exceptionally cold. Saint Rose will not have morning care if there is a weather related delay or closing.
That said, I hope that you and your family have an opportunity to get out and enjoy the snow this weekend.

Annual  Ski/Snow Board  Trip Trip - January 31
Sign-Up Extended to January 25!

The annual Saint Rose middle school  ski  trip is back. The purpose of the  trip is to provide our students with the opportunity to try something new, have some fun and bond as middle school students. We will also connect the  trip to our science curriculum.
Students will  travel by Blue Lakes Bus for this one day  trip. We depart from Saint Rose School at 8:00 am and return around 7pm. Students need to arrive and be on the bus by 7:45 am. We will head to Mad River Mountain. This is a perfect  trip for beginners and more advanced  skiers. Lessons are offered free of charge and the staff does a nice job of making sure the kids are ready for the mountain.  All students will be provided a lift ticket, rental, lesson, helmet and lunch. Parents may want to send extra money for snacks during the day as well as a quick stop at a fast food spot on the way back to school. Space is limited to 100 students.

Saint Rose understands that  skiing is not an interest that all of students share. Students that do not attend the  trip will participate in fun activities at school.
Cost= $70

Able to donate your time or some refreshments?

Notes from the Cafeteria...
  • Menu Change:
    • On Jan. 29th, Tuesday of Catholic School's Week, students will be involved in Service Projects,  therefore, the lunch menu is changed for that day.  It will be a Boxed Lunch consisting of a Turkey Sandwich, veggies, fruit, bag of chips and milk instead of the baked potato, etc.
  • Check Account Balance:
    • Parents: PLEASE check your child's lunch account as soon as possible. We have many students with low or negative balances.

Follow the link below to access your account, check balance and add funds. You can also set up notifications of low balance reminders.

Thank you for your prompt attention!

Attention Girls Grades 3-8!

These are just a few of the words that have been used to describe the Girls on the Run program from past participants. We are excited to announce that the Girls on the Run program is returning for another season!   We had so much fun and learned so much last season we are gearing up for the spring! We will offer a different curriculum with new games and activities, but cover the same core values and tackle important life lessons.  New participants are encouraged to sign up and girls who have already completed the program are invited back!
If we have enough girls sign up and find volunteer coaches ... we will be off and running in March!    Practices will be on Mondays and Fridays after school. Online registration opens Monday, February 4th.

for more information on this incredible, life-changing program!

Letters From Haiti

Last year, our students wrote to students at Saint Rose School, our sister school in Haiti. Recently, those students returned the gesture and wrote back sharing their thanks and prayers for our students and school. Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing these letters. Please take a minute to read.

   Letter #28

Saint Rose School theme for the year:

Love Life!

January Theme:  Abortion

During January every year pro-life citizens mourn the verdict of Roe vs Wade which resulted in the legalization of abortion in the United States.  Many pro-life people flood Washington for the March for Life to protest that ruling, to show support in solidarity, and to ask Congress to enact laws that protect innocent life.  EWTN Radio and television will broadcast the March and speakers this weekend.
Youth minister Tom Hagerty will accompany some Saint Rose parishioners to the March for Life this weekend.

Abortion is a difficult topic to explain to young children.  Please click  here  to read an article that may help parents relay this horror to children when the parents feel it is time.

All collections for Mass and alternate dress this month will be given to Heartbeat of Toledo, an agency that helps women to continue their pregnancies.  Thank you for your generosity.

Please keep all those attending the March for Life in your prayers, including Saint Rose parishioner
and school alum Alison Myers.
Alison is one of 33 NDA students going on the trip.
