2024 Chancellor's Awards

The Chancellor's Awards program is a System-wide means of recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields.  

Employees are encouraged to honor their peers in the categories of administrator, support staff, and faculty. Use the button below to submit your nominations no later than March 29, 2024.

Spring Fling

All currently enrolled SSCC students are invited to join in a day of fun, games, and prizes. Spring Fling 2024 will be held at the Martin Campus on March 19 and at the C.A. Fredd Campus on April 9. Both events will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

C.A. Fredd Bucs Café

The C.A. Fredd Campus Bucs Café will be open for lunch this Wednesday, March 20 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Pre-orders must be received by Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. See the menu for pre-order instructions.

UA Day

Representatives from the University of Alabama (UA) will be in the Martin Campus Atrium on Wednesday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to answer questions regarding their admissions process and programs.

Job Recruitment Event

Hunt Oil will visit the Martin Campus on March 20 and 21 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Representatives will set up a table in the technical hallway. Students are encouraged to stop by and learn more about the available opportunities with the company.

Women in Business Conference

The Culverhouse Women in Business Conference will be held on March 22 at the University of Alabama. The conference will consist of sessions led by academic and professional experts on topics including networking and branding, entrepreneurship, and more. A discounted student registration rate is available.

Student Investment Luncheon

The Shelton State Foundation invites you to join West Alabama community leaders and local business and industry partners for the seventh annual Student Investment Luncheon and Auction on Wednesday, March 27, at 11:00 a.m. on the Martin Campus. Admission for the event varies according to sponsorship levels. Individual tickets are also available.  

Student Lounge

The Student Lounge is now open on the Martin Campus in Room 2642. Please encourage students to drop by! Hours of operation are Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Summer Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment applications are now being accepted for the summer term. The deadline to apply is May 1. Scholarships are limited and will only cover tuition and fees for one academic or technical course. Contact dualenrollment@sheltonstate.edu to learn more!

Shelton Shout Out

SSCC Nursing Faculty recently participated in the annual Alabama League for Nursing (ALN) conference. Dr. Rosalynde Peterson received the prestigious Lamplighter Award and a CNE scholarship. Dr. Alicia Logan and Mrs. Imari Horton received doctoral studies scholarships, and Mrs. Angela Hyde and Dr. Alicia Logan were poster presenters. Congratulations!

Automotive Professional Development

Shelton State recently hosted a professional development conference at the C.A. Fredd Campus for 27 secondary and post-secondary instructors from Alabama and East Mississippi institutions. The two-day event was sponsored by The Resource Center and President Bob Kimbrell.

Divsion Awards Reminder

Information on the nomination process has been sent to division leadership and those responsible for special award areas (President's list, student organizations, athletics, etc.). The deadline for submissions is March 27. Contact your division chair or dean for more information.

Lights, Camera, Auction!

Theatre Tuscaloosa will host its ninth annual online fundraising event, "Lights, Camera, Auction!" March 28-31. Bidding will open March 28 at 9:00 a.m. and will close March 31 at 9:00 p.m.

C100® Awards Gala

In partnership with 100 Black Men of West Alabama, Inc. (100 BMOWA), Shelton State will host its inaugural Collegiate 100® Awards Gala on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. on the College’s Martin Campus.
