SSCC Awarded Grant
The College has been awarded a grant of almost three million dollars to establish a Healthcare Academy and provide vocational and academic courses to high school students and community members on the campuses of Bibb Medical Center (BMC), Bibb County High School, Bibb County Career Academy, and West Blocton High School. The proposed Healthcare Academy will provide supportive services and supplemental support for cohort members in high school and in the community.

PEEHIP Screening: Martin Campus
Free wellness health screenings will occur tomorrow, March 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Martin Campus Wellness Center. You must show your insurance card. Screenings will be held on the C.A. Fredd Campus in April.

Spring Dance Concert
Shelton State's Dance program will host its “Dance Up Close” Spring Dance Concert on Thursday, March 28, at 6:00 p.m. in the Martin Campus D-Rooms. The showcase will feature multiple works of dance performed by a talented group of Shelton State students. Performers include Zachaeus Hundley, Shelbie King, Carli Taylor, and Sonya Ward.

Art and Essay Exhibit
Shelton State will exhibit winning artwork from the annual Realizing the Dream Essay and Art Contest through April 1 in the Cadence Bank Art Gallery on the Martin Campus. A reception and awards ceremony for the winners will also be held in the Martin Campus Alabama Power Recital Hall on March 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public.

Ghandi-King Scholarly Exchange Initiative
Broaden your horizons and become a global civic leader through the Gandhi-King Scholarly Exchange Initiative. This five-week program is open to 20 participants from the U.S. and India and will begin in June. Currently enrolled students are encouraged to apply no later than April 5.
