Yearly Meeting 2020
Due to concerns about COVID-19 and social distancing, the Oversight Board has prayerfully made the unanimous decision to host Yearly Meeting online this year. The one-day conference will be streamed online on Saturday, July 18, from 8:30am to 2:30pm. Yearly Meeting will include speakers, Ministry Team reports, guided prayer, and worship. We also plan to provide additional resources and equipping workshops on our website. Details will be available at www.efcer.org/ym20 as they are finalized.
Barclay College Offers Two Free Online Classes
Barclay College is offering two free online classes this summer that are open to the public.

" Centering Down in a Time of Frenzy " will be held June 8-28 through an online portal which allows for flexible scheduling of reading and online discussion. Aaron Stokes, Director of Online Learning, is the instructor. This three-week course teaches the longtime Quaker practice of Centering Down as an alternative approach to the worries of the season. Contact Aaron Stokes to register.

" Healing Communities through Restorative Justice " will be held Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 pm, May 21, 28, and June 4 by video class on Zoom. Adrian Halverstadt, Chancellor and Director of Criminal Justice, is the instructor. This class is especially of interest to those in law enforcement and the criminal justice fields. Contact Adrian Halverstadt to register.

Dr. Marva Hoopes will be teaching MAFM532-Ministry of Family in August of 2020 and Dr. Paul Hoffman will be teaching MAFM542-Ministry of Community in January of 2021 for the Barclay College School of Graduate Studies. These courses are two of the four core courses for the Master of Arts in Family Ministries. Dr. David Mabry is the Director of the Family Ministries program. Visit https://www.barclaycollege.edu/ for more information.
Winona Friends Church and Trinity Friends Church (Van Wert) are seeking lead pastors. Contact Randy Heckert for more information about these opportunities.

East Richland Friends Church is looking to hire a youth pastor. Contact the church for more information about this position.
Camp Gideon Update
Camp Gideon Summer Ministries has cancelled all programming this summer due to COVID-19. However, they plan to stay connected through Virtual Camp. Videos with messages for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade will be released on their website in June and July. The videos will have familiar faces from last year along with activities you can do at home. They ask that you keep them in their prayers and stay tuned via Facebook and their website for the link to Virtual Camp this summer.
Thanks for your continued prayers for Noreen Tesmer (wife of Pastor Gary Tesmer) as she recovers from recent sinus surgery.
Pastor Norbu and Juna Tamang, with members of the Christian Community Friends Church (Reynoldsburg, OH), distributed $1,000 worth of Nepali food items to 17 families during the COVID-19 crisis (pictured right). This is just one example of many ways that EFC-ER churches have been ministering to their communities throughout this pandemic (James 2:15-16).

Pastor Jacob Hayward and Olga Branney were married at a private ceremony on Sunday, May 10, at Fulton Creek Friends Church. A public ceremony is scheduled for later this summer.
Please pray for EFM missionaries, D.K. and Choity Sarkar in West Bengal, India, and A. and M. A. (names withheld for security purposes) in Bangladesh, who are in the path of a major cyclone expected to make landfall this afternoon. You can learn more about both families and their work at   www.friendsmission.com/missionaries/ .

Quote for the Week

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory." - Colossians 3:1-4 (NIV)
