EFC-ER Ministry Director of Multiplication
We are happy to announce that Rusty Savage has joined the EFC-ER staff part-time as the Ministry Director of Multiplication! Rusty will move to full-time in January 2020, as he transitions from the lead pastor position at Winona Friends Church.

Rusty's ministry focus as Director of Multiplication will be in the areas of church planting, international partnerships, and cross-cultural ministry in North America. Before joining the EFC-ER staff, he served in pastoral ministry for 17 years and loved (almost) every minute of it! Rusty and his wife, Kara have four young children, and live in Damascus, Ohio. Rusty’s passion is to see people join God in His mission to the world as devoted disciples of Jesus.
One-Day Equipping Workshop at Portsmouth First Friends Church
Twenty-five church leaders gathered together at Portsmouth First Friends Church in Virginia this past Saturday to explore what it means to engage our communities for the cause of Christ. Pastor Pete Fowler, Church Health Team leader, led the plenary session on missional engagement. In the break-out sessions, participants discussed strategically engaging our communities, implementing transformational discipleship, cultivating generosity, and recruiting children's ministry volunteers. Pastor Kolbi Shartzer commented that "the one-day Equipping Workshop should be two days!" Thank you, Portsmouth First Friends for hosting this wonderful event.

Please pray for Gabriel and Suzana Massey as they continue to provide leadership to the Christian English School in Chhatarpur, India where EFC-ER has been working since 1896. Pray for God’s protection as they minister in remote villages through CORN (Christian Organization for Rural Nurture). Pray that God will raise up new leaders to carry on this important work.
Evangelical Friends Mission Fall Offering
The EFM 2019 Fall Offering, “Pressing Towards the Goal,” information is available  here

This year’s offering features seven missionaries, fields, and ministries that are currently underfunded. The  goal is to increase monthly or regular ongoing commitments of giving for these ministries.

You can be part of this effort by making a commitment to support as many of these ministries as the Lord leads you to support through your prayers, financial gifts, and encouraging words.
Pastors, Treasurers, and Stewardship Elders, you should have received the Information to Assist in Budget Preparation for 2020 by mail and email. If you did not receive it, please contact Marie Hagin to make sure we have your contact information. You can download the information packet at www.efcer.org/resources and access the forms at www.efcer.org/forms.

Quote for the Week

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so it is My word that goes out from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
- Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV)
