A Message From The Chamber Office
Dear Chamber Members and Friends,

I would like to start this week's letter in celebration of Ursinus College Class of 2020! Beginning at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, the college will offer a virtual program that illustrates the strong sense of community in this graduating class. This celebratory web experience is the first of three programs planned to recognize #Ursinus2020’s accomplishments as graduates. May’s celebration was coproduced by members of the class and includes inspirational remarks by special guests, shared memories from family and friends, and even a virtual gauntlet.⁣ The gauntlet will appear on Ursinus College homepage beginning at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, and can be watched anytime you choose.

It looks like it will be quite some time before in-person meetings/networking resumes. The chamber is developing new programs and promotional opportunities to support our members and address the challenges of doing business while remaining at least 6 feet apart! Upcoming webinars will feature industry experts that will answer questions and provide guidance and opportunities for our community members. Join us on Tuesday, May 19th at Noon for a Virtual Business Roundtable meeting. Pre-registration is required. If you would like to suggest webinar topics, or request to sponsor present, email renee@pvchamber.net .

Please let us know about changes to your services, business hours and more and we will share with our follower on enews, social media and COVID-19 Resource page. Send business updates to info@vpchamber.net. Also, our partners at Dow have offered to share member promotions with employees at the Collegeville site. Send your updates

On May 11, an updated list of business types that may continue physical operations can be found on the Governor's life-sustaining business guidance to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Guidance for businesses permitted to open.

Membership Renewals: To provide relief to our members, we deferred billing the April 1st membership renewals and extended renewal due date to July 1st. In addition, we have developed new payment plans and COVID-19 discounts to meet the needs of all members during these challenging times. Our mission remains steadfast; we continue to support and advocate on behalf of the small business community.

As the stay-at-home mandate continues to drag out, the COVID-19 Resource Hub is a resource to find answers to FAQ, local deals and positive things happening in our community! Over the next few days, the page will undergo a makeover to enhance ease of use and appearance. We will continue to provide our small business owners and employees with resources to carry them through this period; time-sensitive announcements/resource links can be found in email messages sent from PV Chamber .

The weather looks great for the weekend. Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe!

PV Chamber urges  businesses to participate in Southeast PA Regional Business Impacts of COVID-19 Survey.  The survey was compiled by stakeholders in the 5 Counties to better understand the impacts of COVID-19 on the regional business community, as well as develop policy and program.

US Census
As of 4/22/20, the countywide response rate was 61.2%. You can view the latest response rate at the county and community level here.   Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. With just a 5% undercount in 2020, we could lose $72,336,780 annually in funding for Montgomery County schools, infrastructure, Medicaid, SNAP, housing choice vouchers, head start, senior programs, and more!

Ursius College Offering Business Assistance During COVID-19

During this unprecedented time, Ursinus College is committed to supporting the local community. We recognize that, while these are difficult times for many, small and medium sized businesses are uniquely affected by the quarantine.
