Quality of Life in Center City
|
Quality of life issues (panhandling, doorway sleeping, excess vehicle noise, street crime) remain a problem in Center City. Despite the stress placed on the police and the homeless services outreach office, it is still important for residents to report their concerns to 911. Operators will answer and dispatch appropriate personnel to respond, subject to available resources. If the reports exceed the capacity to respond, the call records can support budget reallocations to improve response times. District 9 has been very cooperative with CCRA in responding as promptly as possible to maintain the quality of life in the neighborhood during a hot and challenging summer. Residents are urged to say vigilant…and safe. And call 9-1-1 as appropriate.

Only 6 weeks left to complete the 2020 Census
|
Census Facts:
- Did you know, completing the 2020 Census takes just 10 minutes, and will have an impact on the city for the next 10 years?
- If just one person is missed in the 2020 Census count, Philadelphia could face the loss of $21,000 in federal funding over the next ten years. If an undercount happens, the city’s capacity to meet the needs of its residents will be seriously impacted.

Purchase a #MaskUpPHL Mask and Support the Black Doctor’s COVID-19 Consortium
|
When the City’s #MaskUpPHL campaign started running, many residents asked how they could participate. The City announced that Philadelphians can proudly declare that they never back down, and just how much they love their neighbors, by wearing masks printed to look just like those seen on SEPTA buses, in newspaper ads, and online.
The printer, Minuteman Press, will donate a portion of the proceeds from every mask sale to support the work of the Black Doctor’s COVID-19 Consortium, which is providing free testing in Philadelphia. To purchase a mask, support a worthy cause, and do your part to prevent the spread of COVID, residents should visit the link below.
