A Message From The Chamber Office
|
|
Dear Chamber Members and Friends,
Happy New Year! As we begin 2021, I wanted to take a moment to recognize our resilient Perkiomen Valley business community for their continued dedication. Thank you for entrusting the Chamber to provide support during these challenging times. Like so many of our Members, the PV Chamber of Commerce had to pivot our business model. Over the past eleven months, the Chamber has been working to keep our members informed about safety issues, COVID-19 grants and financial assistance, new online events to stay connected and help grow your business, State and Local restrictions (which at times, seemed to be updated daily/weekly) and member news. I've met with local and state officials on a regular basis to share with them the struggles our businesses are facing and gain knowledge of new regulations, grants and safety programs.
The FREE COVID-Prevention Kit Program has been expanded: Kits are now available to businesses with 100 or fewer employees. Montco has updated the program to allow businesses to receive up to 7 kits. Pickup at the Chamber office on Thursday, January 14th from 9:00am - 5:00pm, or call for an appointment. Please help spread the word....membership not required. Kits are free - funded through the CARES Act. Contact the Chamber office at 610-489-6660 for reservations and questions. Read more.
The Chamber is seeking members to join the 2021 Events & Fundraising Committee. The Events Committee will help create, plan and execute exceptional events tailored toward producing member engagement and fundraising efforts. Plans are already underway for new events in 2021, including our first "Shredding Day" event for business and community. We are excited to plan the 2021 golf tournament, annual night out at Reading Phils and who knows what else...cornhole tournament, outdoor expo, restaurant events, Mixers??? Join the 2021 Events and Fundraising Committee and help us plan for a successful 2021! For more information, email [email protected]
We are excited to offer a great opportunity for members to switch to affordable renewable energy with our new Chamber Affinity Program! Sunrise Power & Gas is the company to turn to for affordable, clean energy. Sunrise provides electricity to homes and small businesses that is 100 percent powered by renewable resources. Sunrise customers get to help preserve the planet by using clean energy while being good to their wallet or bottom line. Switching to Sunrise is easy. And for every residential and business customer that subscribes to Sunrise using the promo code “PVChamber2020,” the company will donate $25 to the Chamber. Learn more at www.sunrisepowerandgas.com.
The PV Chamber Shop Local & Win Campaign is underway. Look for details in this email to shop savings offers and promote your business. Program is open to members and non-member businesses. Participation is affordable. Call the chamber office with questions or to request COVID-19 program discount.

Not-For-Profit Grants and Resources to Locate Potential Funding
January 27, 2021 @ 11:00am
This webinar will explore the place of grants in the revenue stream of not-for-profits, and provide information on the Foundation database, the most widely used tool for locating potential relevant funders. We will look at both the “at home – first cut” version, and the professional level industrial strength version available through a number of major library systems within the area. We will also touch on two very useful resources for a broad spectrum of other possible needs for not-for-profits (templates, sample plans and policies, etc.). Business reference librarians for the main Chester County library will be on the call to assist with color commentary and answer questions.
This webinar is relevant for both the early stage start-up and organizations that have been operating for a number of years.

The letter urges legislatures to work with the Governor to revise metrics for reopening and with the Chambers' assistance, develop guidance and support to help businesses reopen safely. Read the letter here.
