Next week is a busy one at the PV Chamber. I'm excited to see everyone at the Mixer on Wednesday, May 11th at Ambler Savings Bank. The Ambler team has planned for a Summer Kick-Off themed mixer, with summer refreshments, food and a chance to win a cooler - perfect for a day at the beach, or outdoor bbq. Tuesday is double booked with membership orientation session at 8:30am followed by a golf committee meeting at 10:30am. Overflow parking is available next door at Trappe Borough Hall. Tim Uehling, Michael Grover and Shelby Fahrni have teamed up to lead our Inaugural Sporting Clays Tournament in July. Reminder... the date of our Annual Golf Outing has been moved to June 27th to allow time for the $1Million+ renovations to be completed to the greens and bunkers on the course. We anticipate a sell-out event, and are strongly encouraging golfers to sign up early. We are seeking volunteers to help secure sponsorships, raffle and golf prize donations.

Ursinus College has been supporting local startups and small businesses for the last 6 summers through its Digital Spark program. The program pays stipends for students to provide digital marketing services to 8 select businesses for 8 weeks during the summer, free of charge. Tomorrow is the last day to apply! The Home for All initiative focuses on enhancing housing affordability in Montgomery County. The initiative is preparing to take its next steps and a RFP has been released. The RFP is essentially a communications/marketing/branding plan developed by the County’s Office of Housing and Community Development. This event will be held at Chadwick's Restaurants, 2570 Egypt Road, Audubon.

Perkiomen Valley is making an effort to better inform our families about the issues that are challenging our students today. We are organizing several virtual informational presentations for parents as part of a Path to Health and Wellness event during the weeks of April 18, 25, and May 2. Topics of focus will include Community, Social Media, Substance Use, and Anxiety and Depression. We are also hosting a Path to Health and Wellness Resource Fair onsite on the evening of May 18 from 6:30-8:30 pm in our high school library. Would you be interested and willing to showcase what your organization has to offer families? If so, RSVP by filling out the Google Form or by contacting Steve Willis ([email protected]), and we will reserve table space for you on the evening of May 18. If you’d like to have space for a demonstration, i.e., dog therapy or yoga, let me know and we will allocate space for that as well. For the Resource Fair on May 18, parents will be invited to attend a guest speaker session from 6:30-7:30 pm as well as walk through the vendor displays/demonstrations at their leisure in our high school library.

After a two-year delay, the Perkiomen Valley SD Art Department is ready to celebrate our 5th Year of hosting our annual Art and Food Truck Festival at Perkiomen Valley HS on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 12-4 pm.

Montgomery County Commerce Department would like to share information about a new state initiative - CommonGoods. This is a unique opportunity for small businesses to expand their footprint while giving consumers the chance to shop “local” from wherever they might be. CommonGoods will expand markets, grow sales, increase sustainability, and help PA local shops and stores thrive. Registering in the directory is easy at commongoods.pa.gov. Montgomery County has updated masking guidance to be in alignment with DCD. masking is now optional in most County buildings and facilities. The CDC’s new guidance outlines COVID-19 prevention and mitigation strategies at each level. The public can use local data and updated information about the CDC’s new guidance at the CDC’s COVID-19 Community Levels website to determine steps they should take based on their personal risk level and local COVID-19 levels.

NOW ACCEPTING FEEDBACK/PRE-PROPOSALS FOR FUNDING

The Recovery Office is interested in collecting your input and ideas, and welcome you to help shape a rejuvenated Montgomery County. Now through April 30, 2022, the office is accepting pre-proposals through a web portal. If you would like to provide feedback regarding the ARPA funds or sign-up for future updates, please click here to launch the form in a new window.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older, widows and widowers age 50 and older, and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded.

After checking eligibility requirements, you can file your rebate application online by visiting mypath.pa.gov. Submitting your application online does not require you to sign up for an account. You can check the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program instruction booklet to learn which information you will need to complete the process.

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency indicates the high volume of applications has slowed the review process, and online applications are not offered. You can learn more about the program and the application process here.

Households in Pennsylvania can order up to four free rapid antigen coronavirus tests beginning Wednesday with the launch of a federal government website — covidtests.gov — to help ease a nationwide shortage of the tests.

PA 30 Day Fund , provides forgivable loans for Pennsylvania-based small businesses and is eager to see an increase in applications from eligible small businesses in Montgomery County, particularly in applications from eligible minority and/or women owned businesses.  The forgivable loan is intended to provide immediate financial assistance (within maximum 3 days).

PA Career Link of Montgomery County is relocating from 1855 New Hope Street, Norristown, PA to a newly renovated location within the Human Services Center (HSC) at 1430 DeKalb Street, Norristown PA. The new office is scheduled to open to the public by appointment only on August 17, 2020.
