The theme of the day expresses the joy of anticipation at the approach
of the Christmas celebration. This theme reflects a lightening of the
tone of the traditional Advent observance.

Christmas may look and feel a little different this year, that's why it is important to continue the tradition of greening the church and dedication of poinsettias.
We invite everyone wishing to submit a dedication to click on the reply link in the header above or email Altar Guild at stpeventsepiscopal@gmail.com , or text or call Georgianna at 903-268-0534.
Include if it's: "Memory", Celebration, Thanksgiving, etc." The dedication and how you would like it signed.
If you wish to add a donation in any amount you can do so at http://stpaulstx.org/giving/ or mail a check to the church and put 'Joy' in the memo.

From the beginning, writers of the Christmas story have been bothered by the inn, with the stable and manger close at hand. That is where we find ourselves: not by the shepherds, whose poverty and simplicity we lack; and not by the wise men, whose watchfulness and decisiveness we lack. We are, at best, guests at the inn. We sleep, we follow our own plans and dreams. Can we be awakened by the angels’ news? That is the question.

Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

PRAYER REQUESTS & BOX
The Daughters of the King support your prayer needs and wishes. Each Sunday a prayer team will be available to pray with you after the Worship Service in the choir area after the 10:30 service. If you would like additional information, please see a DOK member.
They also have a intercessory prayer box on the table in the Narthex to deposit prayer requests. Prayer request cards may be found in the pews and beside the box in the Narthex. Daughters pray daily. All prayers are confidential. Each person is prayed for one month. If you wish for continued prayers, please complete another request card or contact a Daughter.
You may call the church office (903-455-5030) and specify it is for the DOK intercessory prayer list. You can hand the card to a Daughter (she is always wearing her cross).

Have you seen the MAGA hats, the T-shirts? I first saw one at a Zoomish staff meeting, but since have seen them elsewhere. They say: “Make Advent Great Again.” You thought this was going to be political? It isn’t, but it is; keep reading. (click to continue reading)
