O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Freedom is not a state; it is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau where we can finally sit down and rest. Freedom is the continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society. The work of love, peace, and justice will always be necessary, until their realism and their imperative takes hold of our imagination, crowds out any dream of hatred or revenge, and fills up our existence with their power.

Greetings to the saints of St. Paul’s,
At the July Vestry meeting, the Vestry:
- Discussed ways to become a friendlier church when we have face to face services again.
- Heard that the Diocese continues to seek candidates (especially lay candidates) for open positions on Diocesan committees.
- Heard that future Vestry meetings will likely be via Zoom.
- Heard that as of July 5th, we're only doing online services. There's no indication from the Diocese as to the date when we'll be able to resume face to face services.
- Heard that the Rector will take a personal retreat at All Saints Camps at the end of July.
- Heard that Angela Dryer will return from maternity leave next week.
- Thanks were given to Elizabeth Porter and Bill Rolston for their help during Angela's absence.
- Heard that there may be a schedule for Vestry members to attend School Board meetings.
- Was challenged to complete the Safe Church training modules required for Vestry members.
- Heard that the Diocese will be sponsoring an online Alpha course. The training for this is on August 18th, with kickoff on September 10th. More information forthcoming.
- Approved a Disaster Policy for the parish.
- Approved the following motion: It is moved that the Vestry commence a Mini-Capital Campaign on the first Sunday of August for the purpose of repairing the Clardy Hall roof. Campaign to consist of an appeal to parishioners to pledge an additional $1000 over and above their current pledge for a period of 3 years. The Vestry will review the status of the campaign on a monthly basis.

DOK PRAYER REQUESTS & BOX
The Daughters of the King
support your prayer needs and wishes. Each Sunday a prayer team will be available to pray with you after the Worship Service in the choir area after the 10:30 service. If you would like additional information, please see a DOK member.
They also have a intercessory prayer box on the table in the Narthex to deposit prayer requests. Prayer request cards may be found in the pews and beside the box in the Narthex. Daughters pray daily. All prayers are confidential. Each person is prayed for one month. If you wish for continued prayers, please complete another request card or contact a Daughter.
You may call the church office
(903-455-5030)
and specify it is for the DOK intercessory prayer list. You can hand the card to a Daughter (she is always wearing her cross).
