COLLECT AND READINGS
Purify our conscience, Almighty God, by your daily visitation, that your Son Jesus Christ, at his coming, may find in us a mansion prepared for himself; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Morsel for Meditation
“Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.”
― Rick Warren (senior pastor of Saddleback Church).

Stewardship Today
Frank McKee – Stewardship Committee
The Church has long declared the Fourth Sunday in Advent as Mary’s Sunday. We have lit the fourth candle in our Advent wreath to honor Mary, Mother of Jesus. Mary said Yes to God. Each Sunday, when we make our offerings, we too, are saying Yes to God - our response in love and compassion to the gift of Jesus Christ. Thank You for your generous gifts.

At the December Vestry meeting, the Vestry:
• Discussed results for the Natural Church Development survey and diagnosis. The survey indicated positive changes in all areas.
• Heard that Tommy Campbell has resigned as Sr. Warden.
• Heard that Bill Rolston has been appointed as Sr. Warden.
• Heard that Larry Green Jr. seems like a good fit for our parish lawyer.
• Received the Preferred Vendors list from the School Board, and was asked for input to make this list for both the parish and school.
• Heard that the assisting clergy and staff have received Christmas gifts from St. Paul’s.
• Heard that Burt Cooper (from Community Seeds) will be the speaker for our December 29th potluck.
• Was reminded our three-fold Mission/Vision
• One, traditional Anglican worship.
• Two, Self-care of our church plant and parishioners.
• Three, Outreach, especially through St. Paul’s Episcopal School.
• Indicated support for giving the school’s ‘Teacher of the Month’ a small gift.
• Heard that the Rector called a Special Vestry Meeting on January 7, 2020 for the purpose of discussion of firearms on parish property.
• Discussing the proposed budget for 2020.
• Voted to send 100% the portion of our Diocesan Assessment that normally would go the National Church, instead to go Diocese of Venezuela and Navajoland.
• Approved installing wireless thermostats in the Parish Hall and Church.
Total Income Year-to-Date: 175,269.82; Budget: $165,140; Over Budget: 10,129.82

DOK PRAYER REQUESTS & BOX
The Daughters of the King
support your prayer needs and wishes. Each Sunday a prayer team will be available to pray with you after the Worship Service in the choir area after the 10:30 service. If you would like additional information, please see a DOK member.
They also have a intercessory prayer box on the table in the Narthex to deposit prayer requests. Prayer request cards may be found in the pews and beside the box in the Narthex. Daughters pray daily. All prayers are confidential. Each person is prayed for one month. If you wish for continued prayers, please complete another request card or contact a Daughter. You may call the church office (903-455-5030) and specify it is for the DOK intercessory prayer list. You can hand the card to a Daughter (she is always wearing her cross).
